I’ve read this as well. I believe the source was the guy from the village that saved his arse.

I’ve also read that the team (I think it was Delta?) that went in to retrieve the bodies of the fallen SEALs said that there were few, if any, deceased enemy combatants.

I’ve listened to a few Teams guys talk about this. What they implied was being a “Lone Survivor” as a Teams guy is entirely antithetical to the SEAL mindset and should not be lauded. Rather, surviving while the rest of your teammates perished in the fight should be an absolute embarrassment, and certainly not something you try and turn into a book/film. Easy for me to say behind a keyboard, but this is what is being said by dudes who have actually had bullets whizzing past their heads.

Offseason boredom catching hold. Curious what people think of the defense this upcoming year. The ILBs are a bit of a question for me with Lawson’s injury. I expect the secondary to be really damn good (and Deep) - best in the conference.

The defensive front intrigues me the most. We have a lot of guys in that room with unique skills sets. It sounds like we have ridiculous depth at Bandit with Overton, Renaud, and then Collins/Keeley. The interior is somewhat of a question mark behind Keenan and Smith. If Smith becomes the game-wrecker that we think he will be, and Beamen steps up and provides consistent disruption, our defense could very well be championship caliber. I also think Edric Hill might surprise some people this year.

As for the Wolf position; we need some seriously efficient pass rushing from these guys. We assume Russaw makes that next step in his game, but I think Pierre is a sleeper to get major playing time and have a huge impact. The interesting thing here at the Wolf position is we now have veteran Jah Marien Latham moving to this group. Lots of competition for snaps within that group (haven’t even mentioned Justin Hill who has received some praise this Spring).

Interested to hear the boards’ thoughts on this side of the ball.
Who else are we looking at on DL for this cycle? I’ve read we are pursuing Elijah Golden and a DL from Mississippi, Nolan Wilson. Outside of those two though, I have not seen much regarding DTs were going after.

Literally no. You literally made this up. You are literally an absolute moron.

Honestly the biggest problem I see with Milroe and the team that takes his is his development window. Were he is right now, he's not a day 1 starter and likely will need a couple years to get up NFL speed.

Let’s be real.. as it stands now, he probably needs a couple of years just to get up to college P5 speed. Tennessee, OU and Michigan made him look like a freshman who had just been thrown into his first live fire game. He might need a decade to learn how to process the game at an NFL level.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don’t think he will have much success as an NFL quarterback. He’s got a long way to go but maybe it will click for him.

The second part is a big “IF”. Not saying he can’t do it, but I’d be surprised if he can manage the mental side of the game/position at such an early point in his career - not many can.

The biggest OL news from Spring camp was that Robertrs is finally 100% and kicking arse. Aside from that, I doubt you're going to be able to glean any meaningful info about the OL. With Proctor being limited, it seems like they were shuffling guys all across the line in different spots.

This and that Olaus has looked pretty good per LT Overton.
This post has to be directed at CollegeFBRules Lmao.. “Trump owes me an explanation of his intent!!!”

Not quite.
Condon never looks to the rim when he gets the ball in the paint. Never.

I believe it opens April 15th or 16th and closes on April 25th.

Utterly ridiculous that there are two portal windows each year. Being a coach at a P5 program in this day & age has to be incredibly exhausting.

TD Alabama reporting that Ty Simpson, Tim Keenan, Qua Russaw, LT Overton and Kadyn Proctor have been selected for the team’s leadership group this Spring.

ETA some thoughts: Qua being selected is a little surprising to me but good for him - I like it; he seems like a dawg. I like that 2 upperclassmen DL are on it - the big boys need to hold people accountable and chew arse/get in faces as needed. Really hope that Proctor has a big year, for the good of both the individual and the team. Finally, I’m curious to see how Ty has developed as a leader and a field general. The last two years, it never felt like we had someone under center who could consistently take command of the offense or a game (unless we were playing LSU lol) when it got into crunch time.

Interesting. I thought he’d be a dude that needed some time in the weight room and getting comfortable playing the position (I don’t think he played LB until his junior or senior year of HS? Could be wrong on that) before he made a meaningful impact for us at ILB.

Any scrimmage goers care to post some insights? Tia
The Hayes fawcet joker posted a countdown for a 5 star announcement today. Set to go down at 3:30 CT.

ETA seeing on social media that Edmonds committed to the good guys. Huge get obviously. He and Dijon Lee are gonna be a scary combo for opposing QBs.

Anyone know if practice today was completely closed off to media? Usually there’s some footage.

And what are our thoughts on Jah Latham moving to Wolf? This a move to get bigger up front against run-heavy teams or more so because we have too much talent at Bandit that we want to get on the field (or both)? Curious if this has been addressed by Womack and/or Latham yet.

Beaman is a big ol’ boy. He’s got some serious quickness to him too. Since about mid way through last year, he’s been one of my candidates to have a really big/breakout year this upcoming season. Crazy he’s put on 50 lbs in ~12 months and has stayed relatively lean.

Being a former SDE in HS, I imagine he’s got crazy high upside as an interior pass rusher. However, we need him to perform at a very high level in defending the run given the loss of Damon Payne, who actually was a stud against the ground game last year when spelling Tim Keenan.

I’m very optimistic about our defensive front this year (though I’ve said this every year since 2015, expecting all of our DL units every year to match what was done from 2015-2017 lmao).
Yards, number of carries, nor % of touches the RBs get should be a focus. Can we run the ball effectively/efficiently, and more importantly, can we run when we NEED TO? That should be the priority with the run game.
