re: Thoughts on Cignetti talking smack about the SEC?

NIL money buying SEC talent. Its that simple. Big10 found the loop hole they needed. Its obvious by the results. Players that would usually stay SEC all the way are now lured away by $$$$. Saddest part is its teaching kids that self and money is their god, while ethics and honor go out the window.

The auburn controlled media is the one making a big deal about it. Their whole goal is to tear down Bama at every turn.

This whole issue just shows that auburn's whole existence is their obsession with Alabama. Their goal is not to be successful, but to tear down Alabama. Thats the most loser mentality there is.

You sounds like the Georgia fans that wanted to keep Richt instead of hire Kirby Smart.........I've seen enough to believe we could do just as well with someone else if he chose to leave. I rarely based decisions just based on the devil I know because its most comfortable.

Its almost impossible to teach and get respect from a player making twice as much as the coach.

No one cares about auburn. They bought up all the major media in Alabama just so they could post articles about themselves for their own ego.

Two of my favorite teams is the '76 Raiders and '93 Phillies. Both of those teams had gritty players that looked like a version of the bad news bears. But they'd kick your arse on the field...........I really don't care what we 'look' like. I just want execution of fundamentals. If we win the national title this year, people will look at the team photo with pride. Its all perspective.

If someone hired Deboer away from us after we just signed him to that extension, I'd be more than perfectly ok with that.

On top of that auburn just giggles in glee to see UAB have any success. I personally think they pushed to get the football program reinstated when it was shut down.
UAB athletics tolerance

Would you tolerate UAB athletics if they stayed with the red/white colors and had to remain at division 2 level?...........That is what auburn did with their Montgomery (warhawks) campus. This way all major allegiances remain with the original university and there is no split. I can't get over an Alabama funded campus not rooting for the Crimson Tide. Seems like a rebellious confederacy from the hand that feeds them.
quote:Yep, Bama and Deboer earned the disrespect. Only way to get it back is to win with solid football.
BAMA got their arse kicked solidly in 3 games last year.

Grubb worries too much about 'out cute-ing' teams rather than just out-playing them. And he isn't going to change at this point.

One possible reason is maybe he is starting to figure out he is basically surrounded by 90% of auburn media asking questions for every bit of info they can use against him or twist in some way to trying to make us look bad. I believe thats one reason Saban treated the state media like he did sometimes.
Saban said it best. We need to fly under the radar. This team needs the motivation of being disrespected and no pressure of a high ranking.

Hope Miller decides against returning.
Montgomery being vocal to UFL they want the Stallions, LOL. That would be way worse than Bham. No one in their right mind would choose Montgomery over the large cities they are looking at.
That quote is from the AL.com article on it.

U.S. District Court judge Charlotte Sweeney’s ruling — granting a temporary restraining order — effectively grandfathers-in hundreds of athletes, many of whom had already signed pro contracts. Those athletes are now eligible to return to college, and could presumably enter the transfer portal to find new homes if they do not wish to play at their previous schools. LINK

Pretty obvious NIL allowed rich teams to buy talent and flip the power dynamic on its head. Especially the BIG 10 teams that have deep pockets.

IMHO I believe you are right. They were determined to tank Bham Stallions. Not going to list ever little thing, but I saw some odd things take place that really don't add up. Even some of the injuries seemed vague. But getting rid of Holtz was unexplainable. He was the most proven coach in the UFL.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall................This sums up U of Alabama the best.
