Cam Newton didn't hold back when talking about Shedeur Sanders being a Day 3 pick on his "4th & 1" podcast...

The main reason that he slid past the 1st round wasnt his lack of humbleness. The GMs did that tricky thing called watching tapes. Turns out you can retire a number even when the player isnt that great.

If the talent was there, he would have been drafted higher. Like I have said with Kapernick and all the issues he had, if he had the talent of Brady, Brees, or Manning he would have still had a job. His baggage outweighed his talent.

Cam Newton is not dumb. But in his new role of analyst/commentator he tries to talk smarter than he is which leads to him making confusing rambling statements. He needs to relax and just be himself and I think he could be good at this - you can tell he is trying too hard.
