How long can you hold your breath?

Typically right around a minute….

To this day many people ask what do you do with your time. My answer, whatever the hell I want, or nothing at all.

I get that question quite a bit as well. It is like society is so programmed to work so hard for so long, that we can’t quit working even when we are able.

Honestly, I’d keep your current crew…..as would most of the other posters in this thread giving you crap.

If you want to hire the dude I would offer $20 per hour with the stipulation that he works year round raking leaves etc. when there is no grass to cut. Granted, there won’t be much to do in December and January…that’s just the cost of doing business.
Prepare for him to get really scared and emotional the night before surgery.
Sand, stain, and apply a single coat of spar urethane. I have a front door that I finish in this way. Spar urethane lasts the longest, but you will still have to redo every couple of years.

Don’t bother applying more than one coat, because it won’t last any longer…just harder to remove next time!

ETA: You might also consider adding some of those little plastic feet you can tack on to keep it out of water when your porch gets wet,

I did this just last week. I opted to replace with some like you have pictured…they cost $17 at Lowes. I put daylight , 120W equivalent LED bulbs in them. I can light my yard up like an airport! Though I am very careful not to bother my neighbors.

re: Is this an elderberry?

Yes…that is elderberry. I cut several volunteer elder berry and mulberry trees out of my figs just the is past weekend. I plan to spray glyphosate on them as soon as they sprout back out. I should be able to terminate them by summer’s end that way.
Well your current employer is not going to give you a $50K raise…nobody is that valuable to a company. If you have been a decent employee, you may be able to parlay it into a 15% or 20% raise, if you propose some process improvements that you are willing to implement yourself.

I think you need to be honest with yourself about why (if) another company is willing to pay so much more. Are benefits different? Is work environment different? Are job duties and responsibilities different?

Companies generally are well aware of what a particular job is worth…

Yep….and tariffs on imported goods are paid by the country that is exporting, too!
I retired about a year ago after 35-year career. I generally liked the work and my coworkers and genuinely thought I would miss it….i don’t miss the grind one bit. Whenever I miss my coworkers, I just have lunch with some of them.

I didn’t realize it but I would start worrying about work on Saturday afternoon every weekend and Sunday was spent dreading work on Monday.

I have never had a single person tell me that they wished that they wished they would have worked longer. I tell everyone as soon as you get financially able, they should not be scared to pull the trigger on retirement immediately.

Well played!
I like the Eufy doorbells…they are quite a bit more than the ring, though. I have the E349 and like it a lot. It has two cameras….one for the person and one for the package. It is on sale currently.

Any recommendations on what type of company to contact?

Sorry for the delay, I lost track of this thread. I would just get some kind of handyman. That type of person could seal up any gaps in your drywall under the molding.

You softened that idea very nicely!

Technically true…but the suburbs of Jackson are nicer than any towns I have found in Louisiana (and I have lived in most areas of Louisiana). There is larger separation of socioeconomic class in Mississippi.
Well, what is the definition of an “illegal” firework?
