Lawn won’t die….it will spring back to life as soon as you get adequate water. Other plants however will be dead as shite and really expensive to replace. I would also water a tree once you go about a month without rain.

Stud finders don’t work worth a frick. Just keep drilling holes every 1/4” with a tiny bit until you find the stud. Fill the extra holes with drywall mud.
