How can anyone think this game will be even remotely close? Where is Vandys advantage?

Their QB is unknown to us and has some good targets. Their RB is nearly as good as Swift. They have been planning for this game for months. If we are not focused when we take the field then Vandy might give us serious problems.
I expect us to win by 20, but we won't know anything until we see how we start the game.

I'm actually happy we are opening with them. Whenever we play the Holy Sisters of the Dumb, Blind, and Poor its hard to get as pumped. Granted it's still Vandy but this game actually MEANS something. Excited!

Living here, the general consensus is that it will be 70%+. Vandy fans are going to sell during tailgating to the drunk UGA fans that think they can get better pricing than online.

Statistically, yes. Talent wise, not even close. Swift will be the first RB off the board in the draft next year if healthy.

I am little worried about Vaughn as he's the real deal, but I don't think Vandy is as much of a pass threat as they were with Shurmur last year. I think we key on Vaughn, create some pressure with some different looks thrown at the new QB, and let our corners beat their guys 1 on 1 on the outside.

Not truly worried offensively. I think we run it as much as we want, Fromm may not even have 20-25 attempts. I expect some big flashes from Zamir. Of course, Kirby could want Fromm to still get some passing reps against a defense with a pulse before ND.

I expect impact frosh 2 b playing by the 3rd quarter, i.e. Dawgs up by at least 21.

Final will be Dawgs by 30ish

I predict Dawgs 48, Vandy 17

Smart traditionally is a great defensive coach who forces teams to play left handed.

It wouldnt shock me if we focus on Vaughn and eliminate him from the equation. Any success Vandy sees comes at us through the air (see Missouri game 2017 without as good of a QB for Vandy)

I expect Fromm to be something like 14/20 for around 175-190 passing with 1-2 TD’s. I feel like the running game will get AT LEAST 250-350 on the ground with 2-3 TD’s. The Defense will score one also. Honestly, I see like a 49-10 to 48-14 type game. I see swift with a boring 8-12 carry game with a couple bust open plays... around 120-135. He probably won’t see much action in 4th. Cook, BH, and Zeus will feast in the 4th. We could have 2 backs over 100 with a 3rd close behind. I just don’t think people realize the size/talent difference between Vandy’s front 7 and our O-Line.

I think our receiving corps struggles and we are rusty so there's quite a few penalties. But Vandy can't really stop our run, even when they know it's coming. But this slows down the game and keeps it closer than expected.

Our defense is trying to gel but isn't quite there yet. Causes a couple turnovers, but allows a TD and a few FG's.

I'm guessing around 34-16 Dawgs.

I expect on Defense we will stack the box and make their Freshman throw the ball to our very stingy secondary. I have a feeling there will be picks and sacks while we are on defense.

I see their RB having some success but we keep him in check.

On offense I expect us to try and establish the run as we always have, but I can see Fromm and the Wr struggling early due to just pure lack of experience as a group, buy I expect a few bombs to connect.

Im gonna say we win this pretty easily with the game never in doubt: 42-14

Will Kirby release an updated roster(height, weight)? I know he don't really release a depth chart prior to game time. Other teams including Bama have released a depth chart.

This needs to be our first tone setting game of the season. I know we want to let Fromm and the WRs start developing some chemistry, but I think we need to let the hogmollies loose. Just absolutely run Vanderbilt into the dirt and make them regret ever stepping onto a field with us.

We can focus more on the passing game against Murray State and Arkansas State. I want the O-Line to have a sort of "Heisman" moment for themselves early this year.

I'm with you. The boys up front need to impose their will on Vandy. First play of the first or second offensive series I might actually see if Fromm could sling one deep to connect on a quick TD early. But then let's feed the multi-headed beast that is our run game. I want to see our defense swarming to football like the '17 team. Solid, mistake free game on Special Teams. That is the product I hope we produce Saturday night.

Main concern: NO INJURIES. Especially where Fromm is concerned.

I’m fine with our first possession being all run. Just punch Vandy in the mouth & see what our RBs & OL can do. But also to check out Vandy’s DL & LBs & to get Fromm settled & comfy. Maybe a quick slant. But no lingering-in-the-pocket plays that first series.

Brute. Force. Who’s your daddy, Vandy?

After that possession, start opening it up. Get all the WRs/TEs some love.

They replace 3 O-Linemen, 4 year starter at QB, and half of their defensive production from a .500 team.

Anywhere UGA is young/inexperienced we can just out-talent Vandy. They will NOT be able to stop the run. They will NOT be able to stay with receivers. They will NOT be able to get pressure on Fromm.

Vandy will be better later in the season, but not week 1. This game gets out of hand early, and there's real reason to keep Fromm in just a little longer to test and develop rapport with different receivers. 55-10 is very realistic.

That would be a pleasant change under Coley. Practice your weaknesses/inexperience when you have a big lead, instead of a heavy dose of runs up the middle. I'm not saying don't use good clock management, but especially in the first three games I'd like to see us throw it more even in the 4th quarter when circumstances allow. Both with Fromm and the backup QB's if they play.
