This game always scares the shite out of me... edit( WHEN ITS IN NASHVILLE). I’ve been in Nashville when we’ve lost to them, albeit with far less talent on our team back in those days.
How is their D line? Small right? Our big boys up front oughta be able to open up some holes and keep it on the ground all night, eat the clock and get the hell out of there right? Yes I still suffer from CMRPTSD.

Well it shouldn’t.

I have a lot of respect for Derek Mason, and I'm curious to see how they'll attack us.
New offensive coordinator meets a decent defensive team. It could be an interesting game.

They actually have some very nice offensive personnel. Their running back is one of the better ones in the conference, IMO.
My money would still be on the Dawgs to cover, but it should be an interesting look for our young defense, particularly the LB corps which projects to carry several active battles for starting spots well into the early season.

Shouldn’t be at ALL anymore, but our losses to them on the road have come during the 11am game when we stayed 45mins out of town.....and a bad call too
Only 3 people on our schedule this year that can potentially get us....ND (night game, emotions, history, etc), Auburn and TAMU

Little worried about DL coming into the season. On paper of course, we are fine, just ready to see them be dominant. Plus Vandy should have a decent run game.

My pseudo-serious thread aside, what about Florida? I feel like Muffin will try his best to get his team up for that game.

Thankfully it is the season opener and we have a cupcake team the week after we play them. The team's whole attention will be on shite-stomping Vandy to set the tone for the season.
I'm more worried about @Tennessee. Pruitt is going to whip his team into a frenzy and try to get some Neyland voodoo working against us.

No worries I've got a Mr. PotatoHead that I'm sticking needles in.

New qb to break in so I’m not to worried.
I would imagine we’ll get a heavy dose of slants and run stunts.

Not new to the program

Vandy's new QB is a grad transfer from Ball State. In 3 years as a starter, he threw for 7393 yards (60%) with 46 TDs and 25 INTs. Also ran for over 1300 yards with 15 TDs. Not as impressive of a passer as Shurmur was, but is more of a threat to run.
The real star of their team is the RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who made the 1st Team preseason All-SEC team along with Swift. He averaged a ridiculous 7.9 ypc last year.
Should be a good early test to see how well the defense can defend the power run and contain a mobile QB.

I'm sure the Texas defense will get duplicated throughout the season.

Well that's a bit irrational.

He better be ready to run. The Vandy OL will be leaky and our pass rush will make life in the pocket perilous.
