Remember when Ohio State opened at Indiana on that Thursday night game in 2017? Indiana got some big plays early and had a small lead for a lot of the first half in front of a very jacked up crowd (although OSU had a ton of fans there). In the second half, the dam broke. It was obvious Indiana couldn't hang on either line of scrimmage and Ohio State won 49-21.

I expect this game to be very similar.

I don't. 2 years ago up there we won 45-14 and it was 38-7 going into the 4th. Obviously not all thigns are equal from thsi year to taht game but I don't see them being monumentally improved from them to keep this close for long. The only thing I'm even halfway concerned about is our WRs since pretty much all of them are brand new.

Its the day before fall practice so I'm gonna make my predictions on who will start on defense. Vandy gonna try to run the ball until they fall behind.
DT - Julian Rochester
NT - Jordan Davis
DE - Tyler Clark
SAM - Adam Anderson
JACK - Azeez Ojulari
MIKE - Quay Walker
WILL - Monty Rice
LC - Eric Stokes
RS - J.R. Reed
RC - Tyson Campbell
LS - Richard Lecounte

If we give 21 to Vandy... our defense might not be as good as we thought...

Who is going to takeover for Shurmur at QB ? He was such an annoying guy to face imo. He could just do the bare minimum to keep a drive going, and keep our defense on the field.

As long as they don't have a solid replacement for him, I'm not worried at all about Vandy.

he was all over the ball most of the time when I watched it BUT at times he seemed to be taking a play off. That kid that went to Arkansas was in on every tackle...Johnson did seem to have a knack for knocking the ball loose though....that is something you can never have enough of!

Vandy's new QB is a grad transfer from Ball State. In 3 years as a starter, he threw for 7393 yards (60%) with 46 TDs and 25 INTs. Also ran for over 1300 yards with 15 TDs. Not as impressive of a passer as Shurmur was, but is more of a threat to run.

The real star of their team is the RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who made the 1st Team preseason All-SEC team along with Swift. He averaged a ridiculous 7.9 ypc last year.

Should be a good early test to see how well the defense can defend the power run and contain a mobile QB.

There are a couple of times when the play is headed away from him and he is merely jogging in the general direction and then the play turns toward him and he doesn't change anything but sort of jogs toward the play and never getting there until it is whistled dead.

He was also on what, a 2-9 team (1-9 ????). Its not unheard of a player getting accustomed to losing like that....

He did cause a lot of fumbles though on LCU....and he was the top JUCO defensive player so I am probably being overly critical...

In the games before he committed to Georgia the was balls out. After he committed I think he was trying not to get injured.
I think you’re talking about Kailon Davis, we will face him week 3. He’s at Arkansas state. Seems like a good kid.

That was kind of my take....until he was committed he was all over the place...after he seemed to be doing exactly that...not getting hurt...which is a good thing!

Was it Arkansas State? I've been watching in the middle of a crazy 7-14 work schedule approaching its 90th day so I missed that...but Davis was ALL over the place on every play....

This season was, to me, more interesting than the previous 3 because it was a horrible season...and therefore more interesting to see how that kind of adversity impacts people...and they didn't handle it well (but they did handle it predictably).

They're going to come out absolutely jacked up at home in the season opener with the #3 team in the country coming in. Georgia will win this easily, but it may not be the wire to wire dominance we want to see.

If this game was being played in October, 51-3 wouldn't surprise me.

It’s a total shite show. Brown fricked up bringing Malik back. Messed up the team chemistry. Seemed like the TV show had his focus rather than the team.

It was tough to watch...

One really great moment was the ex-Tech QB throwing the ball away on 4th down!!! Memories of another Tech QB who was mathematically challenged!!!

So does Brown coach again? I don't see how but I bet some school somewhere will take a chance on him...dude has some serious issues LOL...Ive got a bunch of friends just like him...its a blast watching him behave the way he does and thinking about the shite I have heard lifelong friends say and things they have done over the years....gotta love rednecks, and even if he is from Compton that motherfricker is a redneck!!!

How can anyone think this game will be even remotely close? Where is Vandys advantage? We may very well have more fans in the stadium than they will.

Dawgs by 28 at least.
