Shockley also hit 2 huge passes to Sean Bailey if memory serves and left LSU reeling

He did and Tim Jennings had a pick 6. shite spiraled quickly out of control for them

One of my favorite games of all time. I remember going nuts when Shockley hit Sean Bailey deep, the blocked punt, and when Shockley had that insane scramble on 3rd and 5 for 6.
I loved that damn game. I had it recorded for years on tivos when those were actually useful.

good post, but you completely missed the joke
we are a little bit scared of backup QBs to say the least

Good point. It would help if we could get consistent pressure on Burrow, but that doesn't seem likely.

I have a weirdly bad feeling. Like LSU is going to come out and score early and often.
I could see this being a 37-17 kind of game. Fromm couldn't do crap against them when he had guys like Hardman, Ridley, and Nauta. He would need a Tom Brady in his prime performance...

I worry that the only way we can do it is by blitzing additional players and we've seen how our LBs and nickel DBs get burned on those plays even when the primary DBs hold down their end of the bargain.
Tyler Clark and Jordan Davis have to have the games of their lives. If they can wreck shop inside and still get pressure to make Burrow slide around, it can disrupt some of the quick strike troubles.

My concern as well. LSU's defense is young and talented and starting to come into their own. They more than match up against our struggling offense.
Our defense will likely be gassed in the second half after ongoing 3 and outs by our offense. It could get real ugly by the end of the game.

LSU probably does beat us this Saturday but I am not giving up on our Dawgs. I want to see a good game and also if we play at a high level.

Their bowling ball RB is going to be the issue. If we can contain him, we will be able to defend the pass better. If he gets going, we are going to have our hands full.

If UGA somehow pulls this off it will be because that insane defense did the impossible and shut down the LSU offense.
If that happens Dan Lanning should be a lock for the Boyles award.

Maybe we should just cede the game and not play it at all, after all, no one is giving us a snowball's chance in hell, are they? Including this board...

Bottom line, this game comes down to two things. Everything else will fall into place for a UGA win IF these happen. This is, of course, not ground breaking info here:
We have to pressure Burrow using only 4. Any more and he picks us apart. LSU is one of the worst teams in the conference in Sacks allowed...
Offensively, we have to be able to consistently rush the ball on 1st and 2nd down. If we can get 4 yards a carry. LSU has their issues consistently stopping the run. We will have the best combo of OL and RB they have seen.

It is what it is. We kind of suck on offense, at least relative to other teams in playoff contention. Loss of all those WRs to the draft and then Holloman...that hurt pretty bad. Then Coley and whatever he's been doing (remember in preseason how players were saying we would see a more wide open offense with Coley? Ha!)
But hey....they've had an entire regular season to work out kinks. Maybe they finally put it all together next Saturday???

LSU has given up 27 sacks. 2.25 per game. Georgia has allowed 9 sacks. 0.75 per game. There's a key stat.

All this speculation and no one's asking the most important questions:
Who is LSU's backup QB, and what do we know about him?
dude....

I'm sorry, did you miss our last two games in MBS? The starting QB isn't the problem.
