You are a good dawg fan sir. Let’s fricking go. Signing off til half time. Go dawgs. Rape Bama
Some a-hole brought way too many bottles of bourbon to the tailgate and made me drink a lot of it. This place does it to you.
It’s gonna blow past us before game time
We play Bama at home today and cunTs are doing cun T things I see. Go Dawgs.
All I know is he doesn’t live in ATL
I feel like one day I will be behind his truck and the stickers will paint the picture.
Getting a woman to concede is rare. I’d like to thank my coaches and Jesus for making this possible.
Deeprig and Jefferson were both on the old page and they are definitely different people. Anyone who has been on this board a spell could easily tell the difference. I have met deeprig, but have not met Jefferson.
This is how women concede loss in an argument, so I will take the W :dude:

I wasn’t commenting on what you think the scheme is vs the pass, I commented on your idea on stopping a mobile QBs. But I’m not in the coaches meetings but since you are I’ll just agree with you. I’ll start dodging questions just like you.

It’s not my idea on stopping mobile QBs. It’s what he does. Mobile QBs getting run yards are not the same as QBs breaking contain and making yards on a scramble. Which can be significant especially when playing man coverage. Which is part of a pass rush scheme. Which is what was being discussed.
So, to be clear, you think Kirby does not want to contain and collapse the pocket with 4 players as his primary scheme vs passing? Your proof is some teams had running Qbs who had success against us?
So, what does Kirby want to do?
Yes, Kirby doesn’t know defense. You know better and have the receipts. Got it.

Add a mobile QB to the mix (which all of these teams besides 2020 Florida and 2020 Alabama had) and it compounds the problem.

Unfortunately, Alabama still has Williams and Bernard, so I expect them to score a lot of points.

The scheme actually is in place to limit QB runs from pocket. The point is to hold gap and push back and close pocket vs run around/through blockers. When done right it affects passing lanes and makes the QB make a throw on time as eventually the pocket will collapse.

They do not run this every play, but it appears it is something he likes them to do. They do run stunts and blitzes still. It’s just not every other play. It puts a lot on the DBs for sure.
Can you think they made some mistakes and got some bad calls, that they performed below the standard, but also are not a “joke of a secondary?”
I think as long as Kirby is coach, there will be frustration with this facet as he puts more $$$ on stopping the run, controlling the pocket and letting the athletes in the secondary make the QB make hard throws.
Some people get mad when I say this, but I need to point out that I am not the coach and am just reporting what he does.
