I don't disagree with that, but he did a decent job hiring minor sports coaches. Hell, Ray Goff might have turned out different if it weren't for his moral lacking

Ray was in no way cut out to be a coach. He was Damon Evans 1.0, but even less capable. He had that arse kissing thing though.
Dooley most certainly set us back in football and facilities as AD. It can be argued that if he paid Tubby and moved the needle on the facilities with all the Olympic money he had, we could have started a basketball dynasty 30 years ago. I feel like Tubby would have done better in Athens with his “own”program than going to KY. We didn’t ‘have’ the money or commitment, so I don’t blame him.
Dooley ran a fiefdom as AD. Remember, we was waiting to get his 200th win so he could go and get into politics. He was never supposed to be AD for that long. It was just supposed to jump start his next chapter. Some know why he abandoned his career in politics, but he did and then he was a legend that no one could touch as AD and he had no better options. Dooley wanted loyalty and asskissers in his house, which is why Damon Evans fell upwards every step of the way. Where you placed your lips was more important than performance. We had a generational chance to upgrade facilities with the Olympics and he chose lipstick.

..and don’t get me started on Ray Goff.
The monopoly of the outdated model of a handful of reporters being the gatekeepers of most of the info being disseminated has been broken. Now, one does not have to be a journalist who went to J school to have access and an audience. A positive is fans have the ability to learn more about the game than with the old method. I told Brooks he needed to tone down the schtick and just do what he was doing. Glad he listened as at least for me, it is much more palatable and informative.

He had a bridge too
It paints a picture of the difficulty of our schedule
The loop is a big reason for our bullshite. It is kinda unique. And kids have 700 HP cars and little driving experience and haven't had many people tell them no.
UGA is still kinda a rural school and it has a race track around it that always has police on it. Of course on campus, they always seemed to keep a keen eye out for nice cars that came to and from the Mac.
Our friends didn't have a $100k Dodge charger Hellcat with 60K in upgrades and 790 HP when we were 18.

I would not buy them at this point personally out of principle, but we do have them tied to our business. They are a legit business expense and pay for themselves in how we use them. If tax laws were to change, we would still use them I would think, but not like we do now and frankly I suspect the prices would drop if they were not business expenses. I hate it for fans who want to go to games, but have a profession that doesn't allow them to use as business. It’s risen a lot more than inflation the last 40 years

Also, Every UGA student should be able to go to games and they should not be able to sell them.
I dated a number of gals guilty of that while in Athens
7 of the Sweet 16 teams are SEC. 2 of the SEC teams in sweet 16 were “bad losses”
Gonzaga played a really good Houston team close. Too bad we didn’t get St John’s. 2 seed beat by a high seed SEC team.
I used to have a house near there.
We got the absolute worst draw ever as a 9. Still, we played poorly. We are better than 2 years ago, but a crappy end.
I was about to say earlier that the loop is a race track for a lot of people.
Vox, your point is valid. Very valid. I just wonder if it resonates in the current climate of players all having high end fast cars with accessories. I have had conversations with some friends still involved and the players are still collectively seen as “knuckleheads” by the staff. I think the portal and the $ actually make this even harder to manage. I am not excusing it. In fact, I find it embarrassing that it is associated to such a degree with my school.
21 above speed limit is bad, but not terrible. 40 is in the terrible column
I looked at a number of articles and none said what exactly he did other than 2 charges for reckless driving
