re: Playoff predictions

Actually I don’t want to see the Vols again. Playing the same team twice is boring. We beat the everloving shite out of them. Don’t really want to play Oregon again or Michigan, played them last year. I’d like to play Ohio State or maybe USC or even TCU or whomever. Just a new fan base and team to mix it up.

Some oft needs to do a count. I think there have been more UT posts in the past month than there have been in the past decade on this site. Like cockroaches scattering in the light claiming world domination in every post.

Insightful and well argumented prediction!

If Tennessee can’t beat this train wreck if a Gator team at home it would be a significant setback on all that orange rah rah we’ve been hearing about.

Let's be honest. The Bearcats were a token playoff team to cut down on the G5 noise... not a chance that team survives an SEC schedule. They got smashed by the worst team Bama has put in the playoff ever, and a team that could run the ball much at all against most SEC teams. UC couldn't even slow their run game down.

Man... this one hurts a bit. That guy lives like 30 minutes from UGA. Good get Bama.

‘Georgia will lose to Bama on a walk off field goal in the natty’
This hits too close to home.

Bennett has overthrown both tight ends. Bowers made the acrobatic catch. Washington couldn’t hang on. If the Bowers throw was good it’s a walk in TD. If Washingtons is good it’s another first down. Hoping Bennett can rein that in.

LOL. You serious? 5 years ago? Like the first home game with a new coaching staff?
Ok, that’s a good comparison probably. UGA went 8-5 that year. Enjoy the Liberty Bowl.

So, are we just going to do this every week? Each week the next opponent will try to talk shite about UGA’s last opponent?
This week we have the team who needed the refs to bail them out of a loss to a commuter school in Atlanta and who is 5-15 versus the Dawgs over the past two decades.
UGA’s SEC opponent drives so far this year… PUNT, PUNT, INT, PUNT, Missed FG, PUNT, PUNT, End of HALF, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, INT, DOWNS, PUNT, PUNT, Missed FG, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, PUNT, End of game
But go ahead, because Auburn is different, right?

Man, it’s remarkable how fast Arky fans have gone from crickets to talking more shite than anyone else on the rant.
re: In Reality, Who Has Georgia Played?

Hmmm, what if we actually looked at the 2021 game statistics? We could throw out all the FCS game data (if any), throw out garbage time too, and even make it opponent adjusted!
If only there was an analytical way to compare how teams have done against whatever competition they have faced so far without devolving into a b*tch session that starts with ‘you ain’t played nobody’…
Oh wait…

" FEI ratings (FEI) represent the per-possession scoring advantage each team would be expected to have on a neutral field against an average opponent. Offense ratings (OFEI) and defense ratings (DFEI) represent the per-possession scoring advantages for each team unit against an average opponent. Net drive efficiency (NDE) is the sum of offensive drive efficiency and defensive drive efficiency. Net points per drive (NPD) is the difference between points scored per offensive drive and points allowed per opponent offensive drive. Net available yards percentage (NAY) is the difference between offensive available yards percentage and opponent offensive available yards percentage. Net yards per play (NPP) is the difference between drive yards per offensive play and drive yards allowed per opponent offensive play. Strength of schedule ratings represent the expected number of losses an elite team two standard deviations better than average would have against the each team's schedule (ELS), the expected number of losses a good team one standard deviation above average would have against the schedule (GLS), and the expected number of losses an average team would have against the schedule (ALS)."

I can definitely see us taking a big shot on the first play much like the flea flicker against State in 2017
I was thinking more along the lines of the jumbo overload on the first play from scrimmage against the Gators last year. A 75 yard TD run on the opening play would be nice.

I think Odom will try some different blitz packages and see if he can get JT to throw a few picks. On offense I expect us to chunk a few down the field. Get a pick or two and hit a couple deep and maybe we win
Also of note is that JT Daniels was number 1 in passer rating last year among all returning QBs in 2021 against the blitz at 141.8 according to PFF. In my opinion he’s better this year. He has one bad pick/throw this year so far. We’ll see if Arky can make him do it again.

Agree. Crap question not worth thinking about.

This is a weird year for UGA recruiting. Per player average rating is down two full points from 2021 or 2023. We are grabbing a ton of 3* guys.

“Georgia - 10”
Georgia D didn’t give up that TD. 3rd string QB threw a late pick six. D has allowed 3.

You could see this coming from 1000 miles away after the last SCOTUS consenting opinion in the Alston case. They've moved from anti-trust lawsuits to labor lawsuits.
Perhaps this is the real reason that OU and UT are joining the SEC?
There are not going to be too many schools that will be able/willing to keep up if this comes to fruition.
