Texas A&M was perceived as the leader last summer, but Florida got him on campus several times and landed their QB of the future.

That's a good get for Florida. I would have liked to have had him, but it's hard to get a 5* QB when you already have a young 5* QB on the roster. Those dudes are used to being the studs in their world and want to play immediately.

Do some quick math on the one year gap between Lagway & Rashada vs the two year gap between Lagway & Weigman

Didn't realize y'all had Rashada. I've just seen too many instances of two stud QBs on the roster, so one of them transfers. Or, if you're Kevin Sumlin, you mismanage the situation to the point that you lose both.

For as much crap as everyone gave Mullen, he managed his QB room pretty well in avoiding transfers. Trask sat behind Franks, Emory sat behind both of them, and AR sat behind Trask & Jones. I get that none were 5 stars, but EJ and AR were high 4 stars, and Trask certainly could have taken his chances elsewhere.

Weren't they both on campus at the same time last weekend?

This kid sounds like a baller.

He also made a rare misevaluation opting for Emory over Corral. He's probably still coaching Florida if he signs Corral instead.

What are the chances he doesn't flip to A&M by end of the season???

I don't see a future with Napier beyond 2024.

I will be surprised if this recruitment doesn't have a lot of late drama.

Probably as close to 100% as any recruit in the nation, this kid is a rock solid Gator and the linchpin of this class. He has the same percentage chance of flipping as Aggy has of winning the league. I don't even have to tell you how astronomically low those odds are.

Their odds are significantly higher than Floridas.

Agreed. Hard to see Lagway leaving the class. He seems like the prospect that keeps his commitment and has good support systems around him.

I don't think he is going to A&M, but no one should ever say anything like this about a college football recruit.

He has probably spent a combined 7 days in Gainesville his entire life. Things can and do change, especially when a program craps the bed and hot seat rumors come for a head coach.

100% completely correct no matter how solid a commit sound in this day and age of NIL.

Someone could offer this guy Millions to go to 8T4 or USC or name your school.

But he does seem at this point and time very solidly Gator. Napier is not getting fired nor is he on the hot seat. Do some changes need to be made in curtain areas on the coaching staff absolutely which will take place after the season I'm sure.

We are one game in let's see what happens as the season rolls along. See if they get better week to week

Not making a prediction. Both Texas A&M and Texas will be playing in track meets this year. Saying they both have 0 chance of flipping a Qb to stay closer to home is a fools errand.

i wouldn't say "0", but it's close enough that i'm not worried about it.

the kid is smart enough and eligible to sign/enroll early. he's been actively recruiting for Florida (still is). he only needs one more WR... Jeremiah Smith.

Florida has about as much wishful thinking about flipping him as aTm/UT does about flipping Lagway.

I don’t think we will try to flip him.

It appears Sark likes to get a higher ranked QB every other year, and then a project of sorts who might develop into one the other years.

Ewers
Malik Murphy
Arch
Trey Owens
Lacey

He definitely targets the guys he wants early on in the process. Then again, we did offer some of the top ranked guys from this class, so maybe I’m dead wrong. I don’t think we ever offered Lagway though.. not sure why not..

I will say that I have read that when a recruit brings up NIL, it is a big turn off to Sark. Idk if that is true or not.. but I could see it.

He wants kids that want to come to Texas for different reasons, not just NIL. The money will be there either way, but if you make it the focus, it says you are about you.. not the team. in theory..
