My old man was undergrad during Pell/Hall and always told me we’d have 5 titles (84/85) if the NCAA didn’t make a point of punishing us for nothing just cause our program was finally getting good.

Don’t forget that they’re poor! Poor and tried suing the league they play in because they think they deserve better (they’ve won 1 conference game in 2 years). Also poor

Wow this one Facebook post of his Gainesville-born UF Grad ex-wife and his son, who would be a third-generation legacy playing the same position as his UF HOF Grandfather, is very concerning for our chances

Yeah I think Gruden would be a disaster at most top programs, hell if UF hired him I’d expect it to be even worse than Chapel Bill. That kind of chaos might somehow work at LSU
It’s gonna be Sumrall and it’s also gonna work really well
Roger that. He’s bounced back better than expected at Illinois, shows how important fit is
I’d consider Franklin and definitely Bert’s tenure a success, but maybe I just hold the Penn State and Illinois football programs in lower regards than you
Just to be safe, I know one fast food slop shop I won’t be having until after we both make hires
I don’t think the pressure argument holds any weight with Lane based off some of the career choices he’s made and jobs he’s taken. He has all the confidence to take a high-risk high-reward job if thinks it’s the right move. If he stays at Ole Miss, I’m fairly confident it would be because he’s convinced himself that he’s already set up well enough to win championships and hasn’t hit the ceiling yet
LSU might be the one top 25 program I could see Gruden working flawlessly at. He’s got some of that Les Miles/Ed O magic in him
Be pretty funny if LSU got him and they immediately stopped forcing the Death Valley at night thing for every decent game

He’s basically a light skinned Brian Kelly
I don’t disagree but in defense of those programs, both Kelly & Franklin are insufferable assholes who are miserable to work with/for — that shortens the leash substantially, you only put up with that if they’re winning at an elite level
It was the KSR fruit who tried grilling him on Aberdeen, of course Todd pushed back on him twice before giving him a nice pity soundbyte
re: Ole Miss leaking a story that they are working to extend Lane is sad

That statement gets funnier every time I see it. “We’ll see. I believe Lane’s happy here but you never know” brutal
Maybe lagging behind but it was still an overpay

I never liked the Muchamp and McElwain hired.
Atleast we could understand the thought process and see the vision with the Muschamp hire, but agree that McElwain made zero sense

Machen gets the credit for the Urban hire, when he took the presidents job he brought Urban with him from Utah. Foley’s football hires: Zook, Muschamp, Mcelwain
We probably will smh — Jedd Fisch if I were a betting man
