Sometimes I enjoy watching blue bloods play each other. But every once in awhile, I’ll watch a good but not great program like Ohio State.

South Carolina might surprise some folks this year

You ain't seen nothin' yet
B-b-b-baby, you just ain't seen n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something that you never gonna forget
B-b-b-baby, you just ain't seen n-n-nothin' yet

Probably a different take on it than you but I believe Alabama will once again be a very competitive team and wouldn’t sleep on their chances to make it to the CFP again.

Sark has made it to two CFP final fours. Kiffin has made zero.

Sark has an SEC conference championship game appearance. Kiffin has zero.

Sark’s highest final poll ranking was 3rd, he also finished 4th. Kiffin’s best finish was 6th, his second best was 9th.

Facts are hard to argue with when comparing the two.

Everything else is simply bravado and chest-thumping, and everyone can tell the difference.

What are you people smoking with Clemson? Horrible, especially when they rock the Purple Barney uniforms.

Will Ags beat LSU three years in a row?

I’m inclined to think LSU will win this year but we will know more after the Clemson and Ole Miss games. If LSU wins both those games, watch out! If they win only one of those two, then the Aggies might sneak in for a win.

Connor Shaw
of South Carolina under coach Steve Spurrier

Against arch rival Clemson: 4–0. South Carolina won all four Clemson games during his college career.

Overall as a starter: 27–5 (.844 winning percentage)
17–0 at Williams-Brice Stadium

I guess I’m old so it does not matter as much as it used to, but I’m not sure modern college football will create as much loyalty in fans as it once did.

Same here. NIL, in particular, and the portal have ruined amateur college sports. It’s harder and harder to get excited about HS kids making millions and having zero interest in school.

The right coach at USC can get it done.

The support may be the deepest in the SEC.

There are no bandwagon fans.

They show up every year, every week.

Success has been infrequent, but the support has been constant.
Thanks for the encouragement.

If Golesh can get Auburn back on track, it will make the SEC even better. The Auburn/Bama game is always fun, even for non-fans of those teams. It’s similar to the CAROLINA/Clemson in-state rivalry game: bragging rights, great fans, excellent games!
Auburn was a beast that year, for sure.

Interestingly, for a “loser” program, SC had three years in a row where they won 11 games. If in the CFP era, they would most likely have been in the playoffs those three years.

While it was the backend of Spurriers coaching career, he was still a force.

Edit: I can feel for Ole Miss and their recent situation. Kiffin had them on the brink of a national championship. It’s one of those “what might have been” cases, similar to SC and Spurrier. If only he’d had the energy and motivation of his earlier years, Spurrier might have pushed SC to a national championship.

We scored on a Hail Mary to end the first half. Then scored agaon to start third quarter. Then a pick six. It was our day.

That’s a kind and classy way of putting it.

Another LSU fan side step. Are y'all afraid to even confront the possibility of losing to Clempson

Come on! As a Gamecock fan, you should not even suggest Clemson might win. LSU is going to curb-stomp the little tiggers! :geauxtigers: :gococks:

He's an LSU fan. He's not exactly playing with a full deck here.

So, you’re saying the elevator at Evangeline Hall doesn’t go all the way to the top . . . .
quote:

The implication is that he was being told if he kept doing what he was doing then he could have coached there indefinitely and had a statue built in his honor. What he was doing was putting together good seasons with no hardware or championships of any sort to show for it.

I don’t buy it. “. . . if he kept doing what he was doing. . . “ HE GOT THEM TO THE CFP! That’s the necessary goal to achieving the national championship!

Does anyone, including *Kiffin, think the goals are any less at LSU???

I can admit it for him: he made a dumb statement.

Dated a girl once that apparently was part hamster. Who knew?

Felt all caged up, did you? Always spinning your wheels and never getting any place? Bet it left you thinking, “I don’t know what she seed in me . . . .”
Lol. . . You’ve been watching our QB last year!

I think it is possible to be too athletic to play QB.
quote:

Some won’t stay in the pocket and run at the first sign of pressure. Others take sacks because they do stay in the pocket, but hold the ball thinking they can get away. They make dumb decisions, trying to force balls that they shouldn’t because they trust their athleticism too much.

So true! LaNorris Sellers is an example of your observation. Hopefully, he takes strides under Briles but right now, he fits your description.
quote:

On Marty and McGee just now, talked about how people said he could’ve stayed at Ole Miss and had a statue built for him for their success, and how he didn’t like those low expectations and standards.

Serious question: How is having a statue built equate to “low expectations and standards?”

Granted, if he fell on his face at OM, and years later they still gave him a statue, I can see how his remarks would be valid. But not at this point. He could have stayed and might have won the CFP for all we know. I’d not say those were low goals. But, hey, he knows OM better than we do . . . .

I never remember who is south Carolinas coach. Always slips my mind.

You might want to look up your coaches past history . . . The “USC” he referred to was Southern Cal not South Carolina. Kiffin never coached at SC.
