As an LSU fan I do not even remember what this is like

Morris was a disaster but Arkansas was already in bad shape when they hired him, so it's not like Morris took a good thing and ruined it. He just took a bad thing and made it worse.
Luke was a bad hire but everybody knew exactly what they were getting the day they hired him. He was only ever going to be the placeholder that was there to ride out the NCAA drama until they moved on and hired someone with a higher ceiling. Honestly the Luke era could've gone worse, no they weren't good but they didn't get nuked into oblivion like many assumed they would circa 2017. They at least played hard for the guy and they were competitive against good teams at times.
Don't think people realize how much Moorhead did in two seasons to damage what Dan Mullen built over nine years though. The W/L records looked pretty similar to many of Mullen's but he did his darndest to ruin the culture of the program. State pulled the plug at the right time because they were going to be really bad this year had they kept Moorhead. It was spiraling out of control in a hurry.
Losing five games with State's 2018 defense was borderline criminal. That season was a colossal missed opportunity, and then last year was just embarrassment after embarrassment. Moorhead teams were consistently non-competitive against any team with a pulse, especially away from home. On the surface two bowl trips and 2-0 in the Egg Bowl isn't bad for State, but the way State lost games did more to end Moorhead's tenure quickly than anything else.

Will Muschamp - Florida

I don't really classify this as a terrible hire. No, Shula wasn't very good at Alabama, but Alabama had very few options. He stuck his neck out for Alabama when Alabama needed someone.

Not sure why Muschamp is on the list. He's not great, but Brad Scott for SC would be a much better choice for this list.

If we can go outside of the SEC, Turner Gill then David Beatty at Kansas and Paul Wulff at Washington State were godawful. Gill started the downfall at Kansas and Beatty bottomed it out. Wulff's teams were just terrible all around.
In the SEC, there have been some inept teams over the years but Chad Morris's Arkansas teams were the worst coached I've ever seen. That fake punt against Auburn last year might be the worst play in conference history.

It was hard to watch. Even as a Auburn fan

Matt Luke had some elite talent on both sides of the ball in his tenure and squandered it. His win total also decreased every year.

Kirby Smart.... for Florida and the rest of the SEC East!

1.Chad Morris 14-23 record when Arky hired him. 2 years at Arky 4-18.
2.Joker Phillips 3 years, 3 losing seasons, 13-24. Ky had 4 winning seasons in a row prior to his 2010 hire.
3.Derek(orange pants)Dooley 3 years, 3 losing seasons, 15-21, 4-19 SEC.
4.Derek Mason 6 years, 6 losing seasons, two 9 win seasons in a row with Franklin prior to his hire.
5.Ron Zook, 3 years at Florida, very medocrity record 24-13.
Urban comes in, couple years later, National Championship.

I don't think Mac is any better or worse than Mullen. I watched the sec team with a UF fan when Alabama tore them apart.
He was way more upset than I thought as I knew there was no chance of UF beating Bama that year. He thought Tebow or DW was under center and it was the glory days. That started Macs downfall, but it's still more than what Mullen has done.
All perception.

I watched some bad teams under Croom but not even close to this:

Dude busted his arse though at Ole Miss. Everyone that was around the program at the time said he is incredibly smart about the game and nobody comes close to his work ethic.
He wasn’t ready. It’s always all about the right timing. LSU was the perfect storm. USC would’ve worked too.

Has to be Chad Morris. Hopefully he will bring some of his magic to the Plains
Though not SEC, Willie Taggart deserves a s/o. He rurnt FSU.

Chad Morris was a worse coach than Matt Luke but Luke was a worse hire.

Considering that he had one of the worst all time winning percentages as a head coach in the SEC, it was a fair assessment at the time. Especially with all of the first round picks, pro bowlers and other NFL players he had on those Ole Miss teams
Smol-brained analysis. He brought all of them to OM, he inherited no talent from Cutcliffe aside from Patrick Willis. True he didn't get his signature win at OM with a very talented, young team but they came very close (2006 LSU and Auburn, 2007 Florida and Bama). It was a program on the rise, Nutt could only ride his momentum for two seasons
