Houston Nutt should be somewhere on the list.

Worst ole miss coach in my lifetime.

Went 8-4 twice with an NFL loaded roster then stopped recruiting and coaching and disciplining players and ran the program into the ground while earning the record for most consecutive SEC losses in ole miss history.

Had an excuse for every shitty decision he made and tried to divide the fan base.

Then came back 4 years later to take down the best Ole Miss coach in my lifetime.

frick that used car salesman so hard.

If you wait a year or two, you can put Pruitt behind Chad Morris

Chad was one of the worst hires regardless.

Chad Morris "press conferences" were the most embarrassing things known to the game of football at any level in the history of man.

The Arkansas "media" sucked the dick of a POS loser Texas high school coach, because they are mostly fat and lazy and already sucking dick for whatever the latest annointed GOBN is in power at the moment in Arkansas.

Morris and that "media" were consistently defended on the POS loser message board Hogville and their moderators and admins. One particular mod called MuskogeeHog pretended to be an authority on whatever catchphrase was the latest craze from any Arkansas coach. From "setting the edge" (contain) to "RPO" all the way to defending that pathetic coach on saying things in press conferences like "TFL, that means tackles for loss..." and "Yeah, quarterbacks often read safeties..."

I hope MuskogeeHog from Hogville reads this and I hope he's highly embarrassed. Maybe he can shut down and retool and become a mod on Tidefans.com or take Crimson Boz's place on the Bama board

He's not the only one. He's not even the worst one.

Turner Gill then David Beatty at Kansas

Horrible. Thank God we didn't hire Gill in 2009.

Yep, two Cotton Bowl wins were nice, but the 2008-09 OM teams should've been at least SEC West contenders: LSU, MSU, Arkansas and Auburn were down and Bama was great but not the machine they later became

In outcome - Chad Morris. But Chad Morris, Dooley, Butch Jones, etc. were all justified on paper.

On paper/at outset - Gene Chizik. I mean, it's still inexplicable.

Please switch Joker Phillips and Derek Dooley, since as well know, Joker beat Dooley and Tennessee using a WR as fill in QB since our starting QB opted to skip the game to take a test. Yep, true story.

Luke stepped into an impossible situation to cleanup a jacked up program left by Freeze. Nobody else was walking through that door. Exact same with Odom at Mizzou in the wake of GP’s fumbling the 2015 player strike threat. Neither were ever long time coaching prospects, but both served their purpose to get the stink off.

I said one of because I thought Woody Widenhofer was worse but he won four SEC games in five years.

So Chad is THE worst in SEC history.

List wouldn't be complete without Charlie Strong.

Lost 7 games each of his 3 seasons in Austin and left having the worst win percentage of any coach in the history of the program. And he lost to Kansas and was shut out against 3-9 Iowa State once

It was a program on the rise, Nutt could only ride his momentum for two seasons
It was on the rise but Orgeron as a coach wouldn't have won more than 6-7 games in 08 or 09. He wasn't ready to be a head coach. Now, 2019 Orgeron probably wins the West with the 2008 team.

2. Joker Phillips

I feel like the Joker hire, in hindsight, looks a lot worse then it was (the hiring, not the tenure).

He was a UK guy, a good Offensive Coordinator under Brooks, and they were hoping for continuity when Brooks left. It sucked to see him fail because I think most Kentucky fans were really excited to see him earn the opportunity.

Would've been much better off had Brooks sent Phillips off to a HC job at a smaller school before they dropped that on him.
