Wallace Wade laid the foundation of Alabama football back in the 1920's and early 30's, but he ultimately left because he got tired of the constant pressure from boosters (we have been crazy right from the jump, apparently). He went to Duke where he was successful enough that they named the football stadium after him.

Can’t really think of anybody like that for us, at least not recently. Wondering if anybody else does have one.

Trust me, we know. Thankfully it won't happen.

Devine and Broyles is pretty much the list that had great success elsewhere even though they weren't technically fired.
Warren Powers had a down year in 1984 but probably shouldn't have been fired that started the abyss of Mizzou football for a decade+.
Barry Odom as found early success at UNLV, and I would bet that he ends up somewhere in the P4 if he has another solid year.

While he didn't have MORE success than he had at UGA, Richt was fairly successful in his 3 years at Miami after being fired before he retired due to health issues.

Not a head coach but Fulmer hired Dave Clawson in 2008 to be our OC.
Dave Clawson...The only coach in the SEC who had a scheme to keep Arian Foster under 100 yards rushing in a game.

Broyles retired in his early 50s which is considered young now.

He didn't get fired. He left for the Seahawks job before the NCAA came in and dropped the hammer.

Jackie Sherrill
Jackie had A&M rolling in the 80's but he took the fall for all the BS all the schools were doing. He was the one coach who seemed to understand how to tap into the 12th man and use it.
He started the 12th man kickoff team exclusively with walk ons and also started and trademarked the 12th man towels and gave it to the student body. He made no money on the towel deal. He is a stand up guy and the players loved him.

1960 Mizzou was #1 in both polls and got spanked at home by Kansas.
The game was vacated as soon as the season ended though, and weirdly actually determined that before the game was played? It was a fricked up situation honestly.
For the record we don't claim the NC but we are sometimes attributed it or a share of it when lists are compiled
surprised the lsu fan who larps as a kansas fan hasn't chimed in, probably because if he did he have to admit that Kansas greatest football moment in history was stopping Mizzou from winning a NC

That's literally all they ever had to hope for, I'm happy they (kind of) achieved it.

Maybe OM can hire the beaver back after Kiffin takes the FL job.

Arkansas has legit claim to 1964. As for Missouri 1960, I have no idea.
Arkansas' natty in 1964 has been vetted and confirmed by everyone expect fat gumps running to get memorabilia autographed by anyone on the Alabama staff, probably including autographs from student asst equipment managers

It wasn’t vacated (or forfeited in this case) until after the final polls.
Also, I’ve seen Mizzou posters say that beating KU in 07 is your greatest football moment.

Wait what??? Freeze had a losing overall SEC record at OM. That's the exact opposite of the road Kiffin has us going down.
