If the team is not getting better throughout the season, it is time to cut bait.

That's all it is really about, winning today or building for the future. If you don't have either of those, it is time to move on.

There is only one team who's fans are ecstatic after the final game. The rest experience any wide range of emotions for the next 7-8 months.

Realistically, there are only a few fan bases that have the right to feel disappointed with a final loss and that is typically relatively short lived. Bear Bryant and Saban at Alabama, Osbourne at Nebraska, and Kirby at Georgia come to mind. I am sure I missed some. Miami, USC, etc.

Just my $.02.

In my opinion, I think Texas is talented but over rated.

I am not a coach but they have zero running game due to injuries. They rely on bubble screens and dink passing because they have to. They have athletes on the outside so if the defenders play off, they get 5-7 yards. If the defender misses, they get 15 or more.

If the defense presses and tackles in space, like GA did, Texas has no answer. If a defense can do this against them, this allows the defensive line to really attack and dominate the game.

They will not go much farther when the competition gets tougher.

How bout the team that has played 3 total SEC games while a conference member and is failing miserably to fit in, kindly refrain from commenting on what the SEC needs to do.

You have already destroyed the Big 8, SWC, and Big 12. The SEC does not need your opinion on what needs to be done.

Sorry guys, its just the Sips just jump right in and act like they have been here for years and it makes me cranky. It is kind of like someone coming over to your home for the first time and telling you what you need to change.

I doubt SC did anything like this but it was a thing in the mid 80's. By the way I saw the game, the Ags consistently tried tackling 230-240 pound players high and were not successful.

I do know from a former college player (80's) that used silicone and laugh's about it today. Before anyone jumps on the comment, he played for another D1 school. He was asked by a ref why his jersey shined in the sun and he just continued walking. That was the last time he did it.

I don't know but I will bet there are a lot of things that go on that we don't have any idea of. If a team can get an edge, they take it until caught.
quote:

Like the other aggy fairweather fans....as soon as SC crushed their dreams they retreated to their safe space...TexAgs.

Safe space for a while? No. Still football to be played. In shock, disappointed? A little. Fairweather fans? Not many. Graduated in '87 and know of two former students that don't follow the schools sports.

Played golf Sunday in maroon wearing the colors and will always be proud of the school regardless of any team sports.

If you believe what you wrote, you have never met a true Aggie.

Emotionally, the Ags.

SC came ready to play and Kick Butt and did in a big way. That was a beat down....

Still some football to be played.

Example of Delusion:

Any talking head or sip fan..."We are awesome and are headed to the championship!"

The UTex players have not seen an SEC stadium other than Vandy. Not taking anything away from Vandy but it is far from a typical SEC stadium.

Of the monster of a schedule they have had this year, they have played MS State at home, Georgia at home, OK in neutral (which they do every year) and Vandy away. They have FL and KY at home.

The SEC remaining away games they have this year are Arky and ATM.

I can assure you ARKY and ATM are looking forward to getting reacquainted.

With the look of Quin and Archie on the bench at the GA game (in your own house), how do you expect to get this team ready for those two environments? Is Kansas, Baylor, K State, Tech, or TCU similar? I doubt it. Untested but still top 8. Right....

Texas hasn't experienced the SEC and it is week 9? Good Luck!
Nice try at a troll.

Why the hell does ATM deserve respect? Just stop.

Teams struggle and we know that better than most. ATM might be on the right path but 8 or 9 games doesn't make a trend (nor does one season).

Please stop. Humbly enjoy what Elko is doing and hope it continues.

It seems that the mood about UTrans has changed recently and some of the posters here are starting to understand what you allowed in the SEC.

Instead of telling you we told you so (for the hundredth time), I am just going to sit back and watch this. This is not enjoyable because I think the SEC was awesome and now I believe Texas will begin to do what they do.

Texas fans and their administration are unbelievably delusional. They still think they are something special and deserve special treatment. They whine, make stupid arguments, and are literally out of touch with reality on a consistent basis.

While behaving this way, they constantly maneuver to give their team advantages over others while destroying athletic conferences. A leopard doesn't change its spots. Please see Big 8, SWC, Big 12, and I hope not the SEC.
Everyone thought TX was the Alabama's heir apparent and anointed them the chosen one but the look on Ewer's and Manning's faces told the tale. Sark better have a handle on this team or they will quit on him and the season.

Texas better be ready to play because Vandy will be.
LSU owned ATM in the 80's when I was going to school and then ATM won most in the 90's.

Side note: In the mid 80's, after a loss at home, me and a buddy were drinking in the Chicken parking lot (when it was there), and I stated "I wish all these creole sucking bastards would go home" only to turn around and see three guys standing in LSU gear.

I thought for sure we were going to scrap (and lose) because I said it loud and these three guys were young 30's and all bigger than the two of us. After a tense few seconds, the guys were really nice and sat and drank beer with us for about an hour.

Changed my perception of LSU.

Most of the LSU folks are just passionate fans that like to have a few beers. Not much different than Aggies other than they smell like corndogs (which I have no idea what that means or how it started but wanted to throw something in there not to sound too sappy).
UTrans schedule is a joke. The combined record of who they played through today is 13-11 with LA Monroe at 4-1 and Michigan at 4-2.

It is silly to think anyone can say they have been tested. Their gift of a season starts Saturday.

I have no idea what their final record will be but I believe they have not been tested to this point.

Texas has not played anyone this year. It has been six weeks of cupcakes. The season begins this week. I believe the record of the teams Texas has played this year is 13-11. That is anchored by a LA Monroe team that is 4-1 and a staunch Michigan team that is 4-2. What a joke.....

I don't know who will win on Sat. but I think Texas' season starts Sat and I think the team will realize that soon.

All this BS about Texas being so good is ridiculous at this point in the season. No one knows who they are yet but everyone will see soon.

re: Aggies Just Plain Bullied Florida

Let's see how the season goes before we start celebrating a huge win against Florida. They can't pick their nose right now without getting a nose bleed.

It was a good win and the Ags look better. Let's leave it at that until we get deeper in the season.

This post sounds like Texas fans thinking they are world champions when they really haven't played anyone.

Relax, don't feed trolls, and let's see how the season goes.
Jackie Sherrill

Jackie had A&M rolling in the 80's but he took the fall for all the BS all the schools were doing. He was the one coach who seemed to understand how to tap into the 12th man and use it.

He started the 12th man kickoff team exclusively with walk ons and also started and trademarked the 12th man towels and gave it to the student body. He made no money on the towel deal. He is a stand up guy and the players loved him.
These schools approved the right (or should I say lefts) for Bud Light to use their schools likeness on their cans so I am more surprised at some of these schools allowing it.

Maybe Bud sponsors the stadium or something.

Not a list I would be proud to be on.

Nothing of the kind. Just plain and simple facts from someone who has been around long enough to know how UTex works.

Most on this board think UTex running the SEC is about wins and losses. We both know it isn't about that. It is about everything else and the teams in the Big 8, SWC, and the Big 12 can attest to that.

It has already started and anyone with eyes can see it. I am just showing the ones who can't, what to look for.
We call it the truth when the proof is laid out and you have nothing to say other than reference BS.
Proof it has already started.....

UTex schedule this first year in SEC vs Oklahoma
SEC media days met in Dallas this year
Media Days, Sankey had to address the horns down potential penalty
Saban felt he had to address UTex running conference
They got more press year one with above BS than anyone else

It is just beginning. All of you will realize when it is too late.

UTex killed the Big 8, SWC, Big 12, and now.......

They are an entitled lot that will work against all and use any method or means, ethical or not, to gain advantages. See the Longhorn Network, revenue sharing, the history of their potential move to PAC 12 or so years ago.

NB, Missouri, Colorado, Ark, and ATM can all tell you but you will learn for yourself. Feel free to bookmark this post.
