Why 2.3 Million people choose to live in Houston is beyond me. I know there are some nice surrounding cities but Houston proper is a dump.

The only way Memphis could work is if all games were before 2, before the riff-raff wakes up

Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge IMHO. Throw a basketball floor down and boom, first class SEC Tournament experience. Free go-kart tickets too. And outlet mall deals.

I'd be in favor of this but only if they keep it exactly like it is pictured and only add two hoops in the dirt. Leave the ladies on horses, the dirt and the wagons out there during play.

I haven't been to Memphis in probably 15 years, but I have a hard time believing that Memphis can be MORE ghetto than the city of St. Louis. And I live in St. Louis.

Like all big cities, there are good and bad parts. I find it weird you only consider Houston proper when you can't really tell when you're in the city limits or not for most of the metro. The Greater Houston area is awesome. Someone from Alabaster, AL calling it a dump seems a little off.

Can I go ahead and put a prop bet in on either MSU/A&M/Auburn to win the tournament?

I would certainly like to see a rotation.... its already stale being in Nashville, and we're only 3 years into an 11-year deal that will see Nashville host the tournament 9 times.

I'd like to see it rotate to a different venue every year.... there are plenty of cities capable of hosting the event: Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Memphis, Louisville, Greenville, Tampa, St. Louis, Kansas City, Nashville, New Orleans, etc.

I like it being in Nashville, but if it is going to rotate, I think an occasional stop in Memphis would be fine.

Imo, Nashville and Atlanta make the most sense. And of course the SECCG is in Atlanta, which reduces its appeal a little. After those two, i think Nola and Memphis are best.

it was in Memphis in 1994 and 1997.

Actually it needs to come back to Birmingham so I can attend and not leave the county.

They've hosted Sweet Sixteens and Elite Eights that are successful. SEC Tournament would be no issue.

Memphis also has hosted the SEC Basketball Tournament in the Pyramid in the 90's, it would be great in the FedEx Forum

Because Memphis is a crime-riddled shite-hole.

Nashville is a much better destination than Memphis.

Tiger High and the Forum have a deal where the Forum can only host tournments for the conference in which Tiger High is a member. The SEC Tournament will never be at the Forum as long as that provision stands because Tiger High will never be in the SEC (same for any metro school I’d think). I imagine the Yum Center in Louisville has a similar arrangement with UL. Downtown Memphis would be fun for the Tournament though. The city stays open later than anywhere in the region outside of NOLA, and the Forum itself is a great venue
