Why not have the SEC Basketball Tournament in Memphis?

Good Central location. The FedEx Forum is nice. And Downtown Memphis is pretty good.
I know Nashville and Atlanta have been the traditional locations, but if we're moving the Tournament to random locations, why not one that makes more sense?

Because Memphis is a shite hole. Have it in Dallas.

Memphis every bit as "centrally located" as Atlanta.

The best host city is Houston.
How many other cities have had a Super Bowl, World Series, & Final Four recently?

Multiple times. But I've also been to Saint Louis. Which makes me question why Memphis isn't a candidate when they have a better basketball facility more central location and comparable city.
It's right on the border of Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Arkansas. And not too far from Alabama. Not to mention it's in a state with 2 SEC Schools.
That's 9 SEC schools within a reasonable distance.

What city has hosted
- Olympics
- World Series (multiple)
- Super Bowls (multiple)
- Final Fours (multiple)
- Sweet 16/Elite 8s (multiple)
- CFP National Championship
- BCS Bowls
- P5 Conference Championship Football Game (25 years)
- Multiple major conference basketball tournaments at different venues
- is the center of said conference
There has to be a pretty big list

Because as bad as St. Louis is... it's not as bad as Memphis.

On a serious note, would be in favor of them having the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight for Women's Basketball in Tupelo since UConn gets to play those in their home state.
