On a serious note, would be in favor of them having the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight for Women's Basketball in Tupelo since UConn gets to play those in their home state.

Won't happen until Mississippi changes the state flag

Memphis is fine, especially the touristy/entertainment district parts. If a million foreign tourists can survive the entirety of Elvis week while predominantly staying in and around Whitehaven (where Graceland is - not a great part of town), you’re a pussy for thinking a few days Downtown will result in multiple gun wounds, a mugging, a carjacking, and a few stabbings...

Tiger High and the Forum have a deal where the Forum can only host tournments for the conference in which Tiger High is a member. The SEC Tournament will never be at the Forum as long as that provision stands because Tiger High will never be in the SEC (same for any metro school I’d think

A few more years of the lack of attendance under Tubby for the Tiger games, and they may not have any leverage for a clause like that in their next contract negotiation with the Forum. I have no idea when that contract is up

Iirc it’s not up until the 2020s, and Tubby probably has at most one more season at Tiger High, assuming he’s not canned after this season. The fanbase despised him and he’s not a good fit because he runs a clean program and does everything old school/he’s boring and the team sucks, especially by Hoop City standards

Yep. And since it doesn't affect Ole Miss, it won't happen.

You do realize the governor went to Southern and the lieutenant governor went to Millsaps right?

If memory serves, Memphis hosted the SEC tournament a few times in the 90s at the Pyramid. I remember people making reference to the Pig-amid, and trying to claim it like Arkansas fans did to Reunion Arena in Dallas (which was nicknamed Barnhill South).

A Memphis tournament would be great for Arkansas fans, being 2 hrs from Little Rock.

Not too bad for Missouri fans either. I always love driving down to Memphis, I can be there in roughly 5 hours from STL.

And that is why I think it is a great fit. Close to Missouri as well.

It's not just the Governor. This could've been done by the Mississippi Legislation. But with what laws they're pulling from their butt, it's not surprising that they won't consider the revenue of NCAA Regionals.
