Showing stats against that shite Pelini D isn't gonna help your case.

Mac is a good QB that wins games and can make the throws. Put him into a system that can protect him and has weapons, he'll do great.

I'd take him with NO

Jones led college football in every single statistical category when blitzed last season: yards (1,365), touchdowns (18), yards per attempt (11.4) and completion percentage (77.5%). Maybe most impressively, Jones was only sacked three times on 124 blitzed dropbacks.

Mac's getting criticism because he played behind a top oline, had an elite OC chalking up the plays, had a stud running game to contribute to the offense, and had top WR's and TE at his disposal all the way to another Alabama championship?

QB to NFL success is not always an exact science but to be honest, Mac Jones threw some beautiful passes and he truly knows how to lead a WR with a well timed pass. That is what likely caught the attention of NFL teams.

Burrow was very good at the same thing.

so 1968 was the last year Bama had a QB that was succesfull in the NFL. NOt really that great an argument for reasons why Mac Jones will be successful in the NFL.

Danny Wuerffel would be successful in today's NFL where the middle of the field can be attacked without putting receivers at risk of being sent to the hospital. It's not 1997 anymore.

But how many QBs would be great in that system with the players around him

If we apply this to Mac, then we need to apply to his peers. OSU/Clemson have similar talent/scheme as UA. Fields and TL looked very average at times. The BYU and North Dekota QBs played terrible competition. How can you quantify their talent? All things considered, Mac showed under a competent coach and supporting cast that he can lead a team to a championship.

Matt Jones was taken before Aaron Rodgers. Draft order does not guarantee future success.

No he wouldn't. Danny did not have a strong arm. That was his problem. WR's don't have 4 yards of cushion like they do in college.

ETA and to this day I believe Danny is the best college QB I have ever seen.

The only QB from this group that is getting the attention Burrow did is Trevor Lawrence. Bama fans are just pissed that some of us think Mac is overrated and will not perform well in the NFL.

Mac might be slightly less athletic then the other 1st rd QB prospects (but still good enough athlete to be a USTA 4.5-5.0 level tennis junior ranked player apparently, which is good enough to be a low level D1 player ), but he is elite at skills that predict success at the NFL level : reading defenses, going through progressions quickly, avoiding sacks/TO, and extraordinary accuracy.

What? Danny was known for throwing 7-8 yard slants and outs to the sidelines. That was one of the things that made that offense so successful and frustrating for opposing defenses.

Swamptards:"2019 LSU was the bestest ever!!!!"

Also Swamptards: "Mac Jones had more talent around him than all the teams he played combined!"

You're going against the narrative. If you'd been paying attention ITT:
quote:

Mac hasn't faced a pass rush!! Receivers were running free in every game!!

Professional NFL scouts who evaluate these exact things for a living are idiots who just don't understand!!

In summary, Sl0thstronautEsq, please get your shite together.

Nothing wrong with saying he's not athletic.

Nothing wrong with saying he's gonna be a bust.

Now the reasons that have been listed by Op and others, hasn't been applied to other QBs.
