To who? None of the players on this roster have achieved anything. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt based on the reputation of a program that no longer exists.

He's definitely a corndog at heart with that undeserved sense of self worth. I don't know that I've ever seen a player torch his reputation this quickly without committing a crime.

The rest of them were at least adequate pass protectors though. RT was just a turnstile unless Carroll was out there, in which case RG became the turnstile instead. We had 3-4 guys who could pass protect OK and maybe 1 who could run block. That's why they tried like 17 different combinations last year. As has been pointed out though, there is a distinct possibility that they don't get any better at run blocking and regress at pass protection due to inexperience.
Just one guesswork opinion, but I think a lot of the run blocking issue is just that our S&C program is great when it comes to presenting massive amounts of data in a positive way but fricking sucks at improving strength and conditioning. Ballou is basically a corporate VP of nothing whose primary skill is in making compelling power points that make his bosses think he's amazing.

On what are you basing this statement?
I don't endorse this line of thinking (yet) to be clear, but everything I've heard about the OL in the scrimmage suggests that against all odds they've found a way to get worse than they were last year. Obviously it's just one scrimmage and that could change, and maybe it'll turn out that we moneyballed our way to an elite front 7, but the initial reports on the OL were universally bad.

Again, let's all say it together: Traeshawn Brown, Freshman All-American. Manifestation everyone.

That's how it was 20 years ago. And if you were nice some of the waitresses and bartenders would ring up your pitcher of beer as a side of fries. At the time they were also one of the only places still delivering at 2am.

The report I got from my REC sauce was similar, but far more critical of the OL and QBs, all of whom he described in....less than positive terms. He's a glass half empty kind of guy though.

Say it with me: Traeshawn Brown, Freshman All-American. It can't hurt to try to speak it into being.

That's pretty much every successful program. If you don't have those 2 things you're not going to be successful, generally.
Ohio State has won them recently with Will Howard and Cardale Jones. UGA with Stetson Bennett. Us with McElroy and McCarron + 95% of 2017 with Hurts. Michigan with JJ McCarthy (and some cheating). That's just the last not even 20 years. Dabo has been unable to create anything special with that tier of QB though. He has only really been able to make it work with a 1st round talent at QB.

FSU is the financially illiterate middle class family of CFB. You know the one. The people who own a 2025 Suburban, 2024 F-250, an RV, 2 jet-skis, a pool, and a Disney annual pass + Orlando timeshare without the kind of jobs that allow you to buy those things. Looks nice on the outside, but they're fricking broke and up to their eyeballs in credit card debt + 2 mortgages. They can't afford to fire him.

Sark, Rhule, and Beamer are 3 other guys who probably need to reach certain benchmarks this season to be safe. Playoffs, 9 wins, and a winning season respectively. Norvell's seat is engulfed in flames but it's so well insulated by mountains of cash that it'll be a couple more years before it's hot.

I'm sure the upvote and downvote buttons that don't actually do anything but still draw reactions from people somehow count on the engagement metrics too, which is why posts that are 100% civil and on topic regularly catch at least 1 within minutes of being submitted. Engagement = money and trolls are a great way of generating engagement.
Both of our posts prove that it works in fact.

Same. If Russell can make good decisions I think he has a higher ceiling than Mack, and I assume that is the gap between them that has, reportedly at least, kept it so close. That part not clicking would really be a shame, because from an arm talent standpoint he's incredible.

First time hearing him talk. He's an impressive kid and seems to have his head on straight. Not many 17 year olds are this well trained in speaking to the media either. Reminds me of Bryce and Hurts.

The NFL has been gradually moving back towards a rundadamnball league for a few years now after being a bunch of glorified air raid teams not that long ago. Defenses had gotten smaller to account for it and a handful of playcallers recognized that they could exploit it. QBs have also gotten worse as many college offenses have turned into one read systems that don't prepare anyone for an actual pro system.

I just can’t believe Mack would’ve been around or be talked about by the coaches the way he is if KR was consistently beating him out and that’s coming from someone who thinks KR has a superstar ceiling.
It would also be a tremendous dick move on DeBoer's part to string him along and burn another year of his eligibility just for depth purposes. And I don't think he's that kind of guy.

I am only getting 13.
Holloway
Diaz
Allen
Samuels
Jemison
Cloer
Bouie
Richardson
Bristow
Onyejiaka
Davis-Fleming
Fielder
Garrison
Am I missing 2 or do walk-ons count against the 15 limit?

re: Thoughts on Cignetti talking smack about the SEC?
Posted by Robot Santa on 7/31/26 at 12:07 pm to Amarillo Tide
Nothing to do with this generally, but I really, really don't like him. Cignetti is essentially just a much better version of a young Lane Kiffin. He's not funny. He's not goofy or lovable. He's just a smug, arrogant prick who likes to remind you of it whenever he opens his mouth. Spurrier was at least funny when he talked shite.

If Reese is the kind of linebacker who stonewalls RBs instead of letting them gain 2 extra yards being dragged down he'll be the favorite player of this board by late September.
