UTk's fanbase got on social media and torpedoed Greg Schiano. Popular sentiment can heavily influence a lot of decision makers in those positions. Fortunately I don't think Byrne is one of those decision makers. Also Tom Mars, who I trust a hell of a lot more than Finebaum, says Kiffin was using ChatGPT to advise him on legal matters so he's also clearly a goddamn moron when it comes to anything not directly associated with coaching offense.

I assumed Thompkins and Woodson would be competent players that contribute positively, but the fact that both of them look like potential gamewreckers alongside Pierre who we already knew to be one has changed my perception of the defense's ceiling quite a bit. I posted his breakdown of our OL the other day. Big fan of his stuff. It's a nice mix of hype and serious technical analysis of the battle in the trenches.
We have a few top 50 draft pick type talents in our front 7. It's a long season but these guys could end up as good as some of Saban's best.

I mean, it was the worst rushing offense in the history of a program that has always prided itself on running the ball. Their evals have been fantastic across the board. Transfers, high school kids, 5*s, 3*s, no*s. They've found guys who can play from everywhere.

EIU and ULM were the only two teams we rushed for more than 150 against last year I think. Both effectively FCS rosters. The fact that the run game appears capable of producing explosive plays and closing out a game against any FBS defenses at all, even mediocre ones, is a vast improvement.

Hill is a power back that we're actually blocking for now. Brown and Crowell are the kind of guys who can make a defender miss in the backfield and turn a 3 yard loss into a 5 yard gain, but Hill is not. He's plenty good if he gets rolling downhill though. He just never got the opportunity last year.

We should get Carroll back and most of their issues seem to be communication and technique based rather than a lack of ability. If we get that LG spot cemented the left side of our line is going to be nasty by mid-season. Lloyd is a big, strong, mean motherfricker. I'd be really optimistic about the offense going forward if I had any faith in Grubb to play to the strengths of his personnel.

That's not a recent phenomenon. Clemson won both their national championships with offenses practically designed around the fact that OPI is almost never called on pick plays and WRs using the DB's body to stop themselves and turn for the "back shoulder fade".

I'm sure his efforts to do it anyway are a big reason why we end up running up against the playclock so often. There's no separate list of our 5-10 best plays to start hammering a defense with when we get them on their heels with the creative shite. He just keeps trying to call the creative shite and bogs down the drive. I hate the lack of tempo in our offense. There's a reason Ty running the 2 minute drill last year had us looking our most efficient.

Yeah that all sounds like Grubb to a (two sizes too small) T. Just a random assortment of plays that'll look cool if they work and cost you a possession if they don't. He's just playing Madden with actual humans running the plays and if cutting him loose is where DeBoer draws the line then it'll ultimately be his downfall. They've got the defense right. They're getting their evals right. Letting the ship sink because of one guy would be unbelievably stupid.

Yesssss. So much this. What is our offense's foundation? Where do we make our money? Ground and pound between the tackles? Play action vertical? Off tackle? RPO? I could give him a bit of a pass last year because the run game just wasn't going to function no matter what personnel combinations or plays we tried, but we appear to have a competent run game this season and he's still not using it to start developing an actual offense.
