I don't think an Irish guy from Boston having a drinking problem is grounds for for cause termination.
Oats has fielded two top 5 defenses that featured Shack (20-21) and JQ (22-23) in significant roles and they were traffic cones. There probably isn't a Herb or Bediako on this team, but we've still seen it be done. And we don't need a top 5 defense to have a great season with this offense. Just a decent one.

I always viewed Louisville as kind of a low rent trashy program, and now they are recruiting NBA G-League players and I just want them to lose.

I think of Louisville as the Ali G of college basketball and I have no idea why.
Private equity destroys everything it gets ahold of. Within a few years every stadium will be named after a corporate sponsor, there won't be bands anymore because those are seats that can be sold, student sections won't exist anymore for the same reason, facilities will be allowed to rot because it's an unnecessary expense that cuts into profit margins, etc.

The boosters caused that issue, not Auburn as an institution.

This is a distinction without a difference.

2) Our Governor is a clown. We are aware. Garrett Graves tried to warn everyone but we didn't listen.
3) We ran off a legit University President because he didn't see eye to eye with our Governor.
4) We hired a rent-a-cop University President from McNeese University.
5) We ran off a AD who had a NC in football, NC in baseball, NC in womens basketball, and NC in gymnastics (Baseball, Womens basketball, and gymnastics were his hires). Yes he shite the bed with BK hire but on paper... I get it.
6) We then promoted a staffer into the AD role. Another rent-a-cop hire.

It's almost as if you need serious professionals pulling the levers of power instead of populist dipshits whose opinions are molded by Facebook's algorithm.

Joey Fresh isn't interested in women built for Northern winters.

The fact that this is something that needed to be addressed in the first place is fricked up.
There's one man who has a championship pedigree and a bank account so flush with cash that he could take the job on a discount.

I thought he would do better than he has at Memphis.

I see it the exact opposite. Considering his lack of coaching experience when he got that job it's a minor miracle he's been relatively successful. He had like five years of experience coaching high school ball and only one or two of them was as the HC. Going from that directly to leading a college program with serious expectations is a massive jump.
I wouldn't put it past LSU to seriously argue this based on the way this shite show has unfolded so far. "Judge, he wasn't fired. He was reassigned from head coach to assistant towel manager, but then he never showed up for work."

It depends on why they’re attempting to fire him for cause.

He got drunk on wine coolers one night and confessed to multiple people that he killed that kid on purpose and would do it again.

All of those models have big blind spots when it comes to freshmen as well as the general concept that player development isn't linear and doesn't happen in a bubble. It's understandable since you have to ask them to make predictions based on actual evidence instead of practice reports, but with the way freshmen are better equipped to contribute than ever before and the annual roster churn they're just going to be wrong a lot.
This place would have been absolutely hilarious back in the 90s when they were totally inept, so I agree.

he's initiating cuts so early

Yep. He is making a cut often with his first full step after getting the handoff a couple of yards behind the LoS. Dancing like that a bit is fine if you're fast with a boost button like Gibbs and can outrun the defense, but for a runner like Jam it's fatal to the play. He's not fast or shifty enough for the way he seems to want to run. Hill at least runs like his body type and skill set dictate he should run. He's big, he knows he's big, and he wants to try to run through tackles.
KP rankings right now are almost entirely based on preseason predictors, which really didn't favor us because of all the roster turnover and losing Sears and Nelson.

BTW, I was on tRant when Kelly was hired predicting this exact scenario playing out as LSU folks screamed at me.

The years and dollar amount were just insane for a guy who never showed any capacity for winning big games at this level of competition and has a very well earned reputation as a world class a-hole. At least Jimbo had a championship on his resume.

Michigan and USC have put their feet down to reject the proposal, but it could genuinely tear that conference apart.

On the one hand, I hope this happens and maybe we can go back to more regional conferences, but on the other hand I hope Michigan and USC win that fight because private equity ruins everything it touches and we need to move away from it as a society.
