I'm not making excuses for this but I have always wondered, okay, someone from NC (or any state) dies. How does NC or LA or TX or any state - or at least the "voter roll" department find out about it? Unless someone calls up and says "you cancel John Smith from your list, he died last week" he or she will stay on the rolls until it's time to re-register in a few years. Doesn't this just mean that 34,000 people in NC who were registered died and no one reported it (who would think of doing that?) they will stay on the rolls for a few years until their voters registration naturally expires. I bet this is true in almost all states but of course I am no expert.
This may have held water in the pre-digital age. No excuse for it now.
(The next scam will be 1000s of registered Republicans will be erroneously removed from voter rolls as dead)

frick, no. People think this started with Trump. Does anyone remember how they treated Gee Dub? And he was as establishment and RINO as it gets.

90% of the American public have absolutely no clue about the military or military culture. Things like rank structure or commissioned officers/enlisted men is Greek to them.

Went to the Derby last year. I will say it is the best run mass event I've ever been to.
Even if you are not a fan of horse racing (I'm not a die hard), I would urge you to go. We stayed in a BnB in Bard. The countryside between there and Louisville is absolutely gorgeous.
