You'd win it some, maybe even more than the rest, but you wouldn't "own" it.

I just like the fact that everyone else gets annoyed with the "SEC is the best conference hype" by the media. That is in part due to bowl season

As an OU fan, i don’t give a shite and openly root against UT in their bowl game. It seems like SEC teams take pride in another team from the conference winning a bowl game. Please explain because it doesn’t make sense to me. Razorback fans are the worst example. Terrible program but takes pride in being SEC lol
It's probably a carryover trait of Southern states and their residents dating back from post Civil War days of "reconstruction".

Only one "power 5" conference has failed to record a win in the playoffs or send more than one member.
It's not the SEC (Alabama, Georgia and LSU are a combined 9-5)
It's not the ACC (Clemson and Florida State are a combined 6-4)

Cause I hate the a-hole fans of other SEC schools a little bit less than I hate a-hole fans of schools outside the SEC. It's not that difficult or complicated. Someone is obviously a bad person is they have a different favorite team than I; they're an even worse person if their favorite team is in a different conference.
And I don't know why you'd single-out the Hogs; they're great! The SEC knew what it was doing when the invited them. Meet some actual Arky fans in real life, that's all the explanation you'll need.

Because they're a collective and their individual self esteem is tied to their conference performance, especially for the turd teams at the bottom of their league.
I popped on here last night after the game and pretty much every thread they'd started on the front page was some idiotic, chest-puffing, defensive reaction trying to make themselves feel better. They needed to feel better because deep down, they really thought Florida was going to win anyway because of that conference patch on their shoulder and their overconfidence in a noodle-armed QB who kept getting intercepted.

Lol i know! SEC teams are always pumping their chests about the “SEC Defense”. That was literally the worst defense OU has seen all season. 400+ rushing yards LMAO

The SEC is obviously in the heads of the other conferences. Why else would they taunt chant like they did last night. They know the SEC is the strongest and most talented conference in the nation. Just because a minor conference team lucked up and beat an under manned and overrated - but still better team than anything to be found outside of the SEC - doesn’t change a thing. The SEC rules. Their chants only prove my point. I don’t recall any of our teams ever chanting “ACC” or “ big12 or 10”. There is no need. We know we are the best and a win is expected when playing outside the conference.

Simple, because other programs target the conference for its sustained success and want to be a part of it. Oklahoma isn’t even a consideration in the big picture the last several years, constantly getting trashed. Last night you guys beat Florida with half their starting team and you have fans chanting SEC mocking the conference that is a peg above you while your players act like you just won the national championship. So instead of asking us questions, I want you to think about why it means so much to you, and you’ll find your answer in that as well

Honestly I don’t know anyone who beats their chest chanting SEC SEC for the conference performance. As a fan of a SEC conference member I know it’s a good thing when more SEC teams play in the better bowl games from a financial standpoint. I think other conf member fans are triggered by the media, no so much the fans.
