I actively root against Bama and UGA in any game they play. They could be playing against a team of Hitler clones and I would still root for them to lose 100-0

My strategy:
If an SEC team looks likely to win, I pull for them to win big to bolster the conference.
If an SEC team is likely to lose, I pull for their opponent to win big for the lulz.

To me it’s not about conference pride as much as it is individual teams. Last year the big 12 only won 1 game but it was Texas so I didn’t care. I will always root against OU, Baylor, tcu, tech or WVU because they’re perceived as conference rivals. I think the only ones I ever root for is Iowa state or Kansas state just bc they’re fun underdogs to root for but that’s about it

Maybe, but I wouldn’t be entirely too sure about that. OU walloped Texas pretty good that year so I think a lot of fans enjoyed the beating. Whether it was by a&m or not.
I’d say it was a lot like OU fans when ok state and Texas play each year. When a&m was in the big 12 - no question longhorn fans would root for the aggies

Why wouldn't you want your conference to be (and be viewed as) the best conference in the country? That's the real question here.

yes, you got the best UF product of the year and blew them out. 
Hope it eases the pain of wasting the best OU offenses and QBs in first round exits in recent years.
