I think the message, albeit maybe not very eloquently stated, is that it doesn’t make a shite if your team is at least good.
Big 12 has garnered a lot of respect in basketball lately, but nobody in Austin would give a shite when we were playing in the NIT and missing the tournament just because it was “a tough conference to play in”

Same for me. I do pull for the rest of the SEC (excluding our rivals) out of conference though. If all SEC teams were in bowl games, I would hope SEC goes 12-2.

Well we always knew we were going to slap around a&m on thanksgiving weekend anyways, so it increased strength of schedule if they could pick up a win against the Sooners.

I don't root for SEC teams unless it's against another team I hate more. In this instance, I loved watching Oklahoma beat the shite out of Florida and its classless head coach and fanbase.

Football fans love to talk shite.
If you root for a team like Tennessee, Mississippi State, or A&M, you never have anything to be happy about.
Latching on to other teams lets those fan be happy about something.

Since the last NCAA investigation I have had a FU ????attitude for the most part regarding other SEC programs.
This year is a bit different and I find myself pulling for other SEC teams.
But don’t pretend like your anecdotal story applies to other fans from your conference.
