He’s a poor game day coach, good recruiter. Won’t do any better than Richt did. Doesn’t make him suck, but he’s not great

He’s had some poor games but some very good ones. Just this past year vs UF and Baylor were great examples of his coaching abilities on game day.

May need to read more

O has many signature wins. I would say one of them is against your Georgia team in 18. And obviously Alabama which Georgia hasn’t been

Speaking of reading more. When exactly did he beat Bama in his 1st four years as a HC? What were his signature wins in his 1st four years as a HC?

Expirence DOES matter as a HC and coach O obviously benefited from his prior HC years and has learned a few things. Lets see how he reacts and makes adjustments to losing his top 2 asst coaches.(sorry Ensminger) Saban seems to do it seamlessly
and Kirby has done well replacing his DC not so much after he lost his 1st OC and we'll see how Luke does with Pittman getting the HC job at Arky.

Harbaugh.

Though it's a lifetime award here.

Lifetime for what?

Dude hasn't done anything to earn the praise he gets. If he wasn't a Michigan man and have a crazy contract he would have already been fired.

Well before the 2019 season. O was def a top 15 coach. His signature wins were against Georgia as I said in 18. Beat a top 10 auburn twice. Beat number 8 Miami. Weren’t as good as people thought but still a top win. Beat UCF who was number 8 and had won 20 somethin in a row. Plenty of good wins prior til 2019.

I'd probably go with Lincoln Riley, from that list. I think his Oklahoma teams are hit with culture shock whenever they play an SEC team.
If he can tweak the defense and keep the offense rolling, he's going to win one eventually. And asking Oklahoma to develop a defense isn't totally out of left field, they SHOULD be able to put a decent defense out there.

Day and Riley.

Guys like Leach has had their time pass by. Nothing new about their offense now.

Auburn wasn't a top 10 in '18 and Miami was a hot mess and finished 7-6

You were favored by a TD LINK

Kyle Whittingham at a bigger school probably already have a couple titles.
Displined, focused, fantastic bowl record.

Ok The signature is clearly Alabama or even Clemson both those.
And a signature win from prior would be 18 Georgia. Y’all were the best in the country atleast imo at that point in time. We beat number 8 auburn I believe in 17 we came back from a 20 point deficit. And we beat number 7 auburn in 2018. Looking the games up they don’t show what they were ranked at that time which might be confusing you.

Their are a lot of coaches that don’t have Nattys.
In fact only 6 active HCs have a NC
Dabo
Saban
Orgeron
Mack
Jimbo
Les
Off topic, but three of those six won a title at LSU. That's pretty damn impressive.

Kirby has had a shot at least. So has OU's coach, sort of, but Kirby got all the way to OT for a title. Oklahoma hasn't made it past the semi-finals.

Not saying it is Kirby, but him and Kelly were one game away each from having a trophy.

"Ranked at the time" is completely irrelevant.Only matters where they end up.

God lord,Have ever watched UGA other than when they played LSU in '18 and '19? Not sure what your definition is of a "signature" win is but he has beaten 2 top 10 Florida teams,is 4-1 vs Auburn including a SECCG,beat OU in the semi final, beat two top 10 ND teams and beat a top 5 Baylor team with 11 starters out.

BTW,you wanna give me Coach O's signature wins in his 1st four years as HC?

What's his overall record vs Mullen?

You have to leave Kirby off of any list like this due to that Fake Punt he called vs Bama

Jus' sayin'

I’d take PJ Fleck over at least half the guys on OP’s list. Unlikely he wins a natty at Minnesota, but I’d say he’s got a good chance to win one before his career is over
