Not a Landry fan...but he's bringing it.

Can you post it here for those of us that don’t do FB?

This is just copy and pasted. Pat Englade's post:

quote:

For the past few months, I have kept my opinions about crime in Baton Rouge to myself, until today! I am so damn angry about the crime that has engulfed us here. Sure we are arresting people but apparently we can’t arrest them fast enough or keep them in jail long enough to keep them from killing our children. Imagine a parent getting that call today! Its unimaginable! That pay raise isn’t going to fix our problems in Baton Rouge. It’s going to take years to get BRPD anywhere close to full strength, if that’s even possible. You think pay is the issue or maybe it’s people just don’t want to do that job anymore? We have angry young people with chips on their shoulders, with no guidance and worse than that, no conscience about killing another person or a dozen other people. When are people going to get angry and demand changes to enforcement, prosecuting and sentencing? TAKE THE DAMN GLOVES OFF! We have bitched for years now about it getting worse and worse but what have we done? Let’s get off the TV shows, quit walking in neighborhoods giving away snowballs and let’s do a full court press every day. Let these thugs get very uncomfortable driving around in their cars spraying neighborhoods with bullets. I have had to tell parents that their child wasn’t ever coming home again and I can still hear the screams in my head decades later. I’m just a retired cop who policed this city for 32 years and now I’m an old man that would absolutely lose my mind if that was my grandchild in that mall or the parents of Allie Rice. A month from now this will be old news because the names will change but the killings won’t. Baton Rouge will still be outraged at the senseless killings but are we mad enough to do something about it? Good cops know what needs to be done to slow this down and it’s absolutely not social programs. We are at war and it’s time to fight back!

Do we know who was killed? bystander? sorry havent read all whole thread

Innocent 17 year old female high school senior

Now LP sheriff is saying he has not been confirmed as a perpetrator in the mall incident, but had schedule II narcotics and a gun, so they took him in.

Hopefully the gun will finally be taken away.

Jason Lives will forever be the best Friday the 13th movie.

I rewatched that one most. Didn't take itself too seriously and was a fun ride.

Yea, I’d voice opinions during elections, not in writing to the judge’s inbox

He isn't an elected official.

The student’s father told Guillory that he loves his son and is watching over him.

So why in the hell didn't you take the gun from him? Or did he get another gun?

An innocent 17 year old female high school student was killed. Im irrationally angry at the moment over it all.
An innocent girl struck down should start massive protests. Not someone killed because they choose to fight police. Im angry too.

A judge from the 19th will have them all sleeping in their own beds tonight, and apologize to them for the inconvenience of missing their cello practice this afternoon.

Remember when Trudy White had an ad with a guy in an orange jumpsuit saying he was in jail but wasn't worried cause Trudy White was going to show him some love. The Supreme Court made her remove it. But sad anyone is willing to vote for someone with that thought process.

Pin this at top please

I'm really surprised it hasn't been.
Shouldn't have annexed back into Baton Rouge. I kid. But this is just horrible. You can't go anywhere these days.

Yep. Fired at any point with the low buyout.
If Nuss is healthy...does it change things? Do you think Brian Kelly was still the long-term answer at LSU? Or did this merely speed up the process?
Horrible. But this doesnt look like some random act so hopefully the perps are captured quickly.

Sorry I don’t hang on every interview he gives

Neither do I. But it was all over this board moreso than others I've seen. He said it won't happen again

Isn’t that what he basically said last night?

Yep. It's not even enough for some fans when he admits it.

Is this stretch the biggest armpit of America?

Damn....you must not really travel much.

I'm hoping when the 415 Extension extends 415 to south of the intracoastal and connects the northern and southern part of WBR is that more things will grow there. No, not more vape shops, dollar stores, or storage facilities. But businesses like a Home Depot and/or Lowes, Academy, etc. It would be great for Iberville, WBR, and Pointe Coupee where a lot of those people would not have to travel into BR for certain things.

And BTW, it's 190 not 290.
