Their are a lot of coaches that don’t have Nattys.
In fact only 6 active HCs have a NC
Dabo
Saban
Orgeron
Mack
Jimbo
Les

So that leads me to my Question
Who is the best coach with no natty?
R. Day
Mario Cristobal
Brian kelly
Dan Mullen
Kirby
Gus
Harbuagh
Lincoln Riley
J. Franklin
P.J Fleck
Obviously many more, but these came to mind.

My personal opinion would be
Kelly. He doesn’t have a conference and Norte dame hasn’t played good in big games.

But he led them through struggles and back to respectable and a threat. Natty appearance and Playoff appearance.

Out of those, the only ones who have had consistent success are Mullen, Kirby, Gus, and Riley. Mullen always loses to Kirby, so we can eliminate him. Gus is somewhat inconsistent compared to the others.

I think it has to be between Kirby and Riley. Both have made the playoffs, though they've not won a title. What do you value more, a guy who can turn anyone into a Heisman contender and makes the playoff every year, or a guy who recruits lights out but seems to slightly under perform with all that talent.

If I had to pick an Order of top 3 it would be
Kelly
Kirby
Riley

The reason I put Kelly above is he inherited a pretty bad team/ culture. Whereas Kirby and Lincoln came into a pretty good situation.
Kelly built Norte dame back up. Kelly also doesn’t have the talent of OU or a Georgia coming in. And he consistently puts Notre dame in mix of top 10.

Kirby has a collective record of 10-1 vs coaches he's faced on this list.

The list of coaches without a NC? Is that impressive? Does he have any wins against the coaches with a NC?

Kirby has been a good coach. But he has underperformed with the talent he has had.
He does not yet have that signature win.
As of right now his best win arguably would be the sec champ against a overated auburn. And I think he is 0-5 vs LSU/Bama the west’s best teams. He has only lost to auburn once which I will give him props for.
He has been consistent and Georgia has been a threat, they have dominated Florida and the east which is impressive. But he’s hasn’t quite got over the hump.

A list of the BEST coaches without a NC dumbass.and the only one with more expirence is Lincoln Riley.

Having lost only once to Mullen,Gus,Kelly
and Riley COMBINED isn't impressive? Interesting

Do you think O even gets consideration on this list pre 19? How bout after his 4th year as HC? Of COURSE not.

BTW,please name another 1st time HC whose gotten off to a better start in the SEC.

I down right hate Notre Dame and think the media slobs their knob way to fricking much, but jelly has won consistently at every school he’s been at and has notre dame in the top 10 almost every damn year. Brian kelly May be a huge piece of shite but he can coach

Ehh..
Idk. I think avenging their loss to Auburn and winning the sec was a big deal. That ultimately led them to make the playoffs. And I believe they were favored quite a bit to beat OU.
I’m curious what Georgia fans think their best win is with Kirby.

Numbers 2, 3, 6, 8, 9 will never play in a title game let alone win it.

Michigan bought a "pig in a poke" with Harbaugh
