It’s very normal. Been going on for decades. Huey P Long used to drag the band around with him.

Most here don't like him. He's a fricking caricature of an old school Louisiana politician.

BUT, he's got a lot of businesses running here to do business so meddling in LSU athletics is just his pet project like many governors in the past.

The local media knows this dumb arse can't keep his mouth shut so they will gode him with LSU questions all the fricking time. It's annoying.

Simple answer is because it's popular. He's in the unique position of being the Governor of a State with only 1 power program. So he can get as involved as he wants and it plays very well to his voting base. He has realized its a win-win issue for him.

He's not having to toe the line with a constituency or a legislature that is split amongst multiple big schools. In Louisiana, what LSU wants, LSU gets.

I saw that about Space X. One of my employees is big into that and talked about it for a few days. Cool stuff

LSU is an arm of the state of Louisiana... The governor appoints the board... read the history of how Tiger Stadium came to be... you'll have your answer

. Riiiiiight. Where’s that affordable private capital again? I can’t wait until the Acrisure deal terms are made public.

You’d think at least Landy could embezzle for LSU some state pork barrel monies, but I guess he’s all yaw-yaw and no gumbo.

It is extremely normal for LSU. Look into how Tiger Stadium even came to exist. Huey Long had it built as dorms for a reason.

I think you misunderstood. Obviously LSU is limited by the economic realities of the rest of the State. But when it comes to funding (with whatever money is available), LSU is going to get what it wants.

Landry doesn’t have to appease the fanbases or legislators of Texas AND Texas A&M, or Alabama AND Auburn, etc.

It's pretty normal. Here is George Wallace and Slug Jordan.

I've always wondered what it must have sounded like inside those dorms on game days.

Up until last year, not many folks in Indiana were interested in Indiana football. Maybe, the governor should be involved a little. Enjoy the spotlight while it's there...fame can be fleeting!

Being involved and running your mouth are two completely different things. Name one thing he has done to control LSU football or basketball or baseball? Nothing, he’s just run his mouth and that’s it. But you guys just want to believe anything the media says that makes you feel better.lol

It’s not normal. I haven’t seen a governor this involved personally with lsu athletics. They may have attended games and placed funny bets with other governors. And if they were involved, it was more behind closed doors not out in the public or social media.
