re: Which coach is better sark or lane kiffin

One of those 2 was managing to score on 1st and goal from inside the opponent 1 yard line, I guess 3 would have been more accurate as it would have taken a 2 point conversion

Sark was 2 plays away from playing for b2b titles in 2023 and 2024 and Texas is the title favorite again this year. Lane luckboxed with an injury to his starter paving the way for a generational D2 QB he couldn't even properly scout and will be lucky to win 8 games this season

Are we going to act like Hugh Freeze didn't have close to the same level of success at Ole Miss in 2014 and 2015?

Are we sure the Dutch didn't invade England like 200 years ago and just fabricate the UK's history while making them vassals for their overseas territories? It would make a lot of sense...

Imagine only crossing the 50 yard line 1 time in a national championship game, at home

It's literally how the guy is coached to play it in that situation/scenario, the exit velo is the reason he looked so dumb. A ball on that trajectory should typically travel 275-300 feet, instead that went ~375. And there's no way for a CF to recognize/adjust until it's over 2B

MLB hid exit VELO on that ball, how often do you see that?

He was deep against a guy with plus power and running in on contact was the strategy with runners at 2nd and 3rd w/ less than 2 outs.
Guard gaps to prevent XBH, charge on contact to protect home plate vs line drive. If it's a deep fly ball, you have time recover. If line drive gets down, you stop runner at 2nd from scoring. If it's catchable, might be a play at the plate from runner on 3rd and forward momentum running in with help with throw velo.
But that ball was smashed, how often do you see a line drive almost reach the warning track on the fly to dead center?
There's your strategy, point blank. Very rarely do you see a ball hit that deep to center on a line drive. It wasn't misplayed, it's simply not part of the equation because it doesn't happen frequently enough to make the strategy -EV

I didn't see that one, but the 3R triple wasn't on him. He was deep against a guy with plus power and charging a ball hit at him was the strategy with runners at 2nd and 3rd w/ less than 2 outs

MLB is going to protect Skenes because of his marketability, but not publishing the Exit velo on that hit and having analysts parrot it as misplayed is pretty sleazy. It was the right strategy on >95% of balls in play

He's supposed to charge on line drive contact, the expectation is it will almost never go that deep and there will be a potential play at the plate. But that ball was absolutely hammered so much so that the MLB has apparently decided to hide the exit velo

Nick Marshall and Tre Mason had 2900 yards and 35 TD's in 2013. Marshall added another 2k yards and 14 TDs throwing out of the wildcat

Wasn't on the center fielder, him playing deep and charging on contact was the strategy with bases loaded and less than 2 outs

He didn't misplay shite, there were less than 2 outs. The strategy was playing the center fielder deep to guard gaps and charge on contact to get the out at home, either runner on 3B or 2B depending on if it got down. Unfortunately for the Pirates that ball was smoked and would have been a tough play either way. Skenes was also lucky to not give up a 3R HR on that sweeper/curve he put on a tee for Robert Jr

It is strange how the entire culture of the state revolves around LSU athletics to the point of subsidizing it with tax dollars/student tuition while neglecting the university's academic facilities/infrastructure
I'm guessing the logic is that without athletics, LSU would mostly become irrelevant on a national level and lose it's limited appeal as an academic institution, cratering enrollment and thus revenues. It would also lose one of the only positive things the state of Louisiana has going for it on an interstate level. But at the same time, they're effectively using athletics to prey on morons that choose to attend a university for an athletic department they're not affiliated with
