Actually he never made it to the sweet 16. He was suspended for the post season. The assistant coach made it to the sweet 16.

It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it. Unc fired their coach then started looking or starting looking before firing their coach but did it discreetly. LSU courting a new coach publicly while still employing McMahon. It’s not a good look

Let me help you out. Our best season under Wade was 2018/19 season with a 25-5 final record. He didn’t coach the postseason when the team made it to the sweet 16 bc he was suspended. Covid year lsu was 21-10. And lsu only finished the season ranked 1 time.

It’s definitely a lot of corruption going on. Bc the newly hired lsu president and assistant AD, were only hired bc they are friends of the governor. So lsu was only able to hire a guys from Mcneese? Would lsu hire a football coach from mcneese?

They could have started the coaching search immediately. Did lsu wait to fire McMahon before looking? Most ads already has a plan in place for a situation like this

Just bc someone criticizes Wade doesn’t mean they supported McMahon. And then some just wanted McMahon to be given a fair chance. He inherited a program with no players with recruiting limitations bc of sanctions. Ppl point to nil but fail to realize lsu didn’t give him a big budget to work with. Now if Wade comes and be successful ppl will also fail to realize that lsu gave him a budget of $15m for nil. U couldn’t expect McMahon to succeed if ur not giving him the tools to win.

Yes he had the potential to be a great coach in the big league. he coached under Saban and he never had a losing record as a head coach. He lead a team to the championship game and semi finals on a couple of occasions.

They were paying players for years but not at the level they are doing now. Wade probably gave recruits $5000 to $10,000. Do you think any 5 stars will accept that today?

UK didn’t want to get rid of him. Yes they were frustrated, but they weren’t going to fire him. He quit bc he felt unappreciated. They could have tried to get a better coach.

He bought 5 star players to come before nil. The pocket change he was giving them isn’t going to cut it this go round. So he won’t have those talented teams he had back then just to go to the first or second round

North Carolina is far from a third rate state. Some people just have their priorities in check. They rather spend on education than sports. North Carolina has 6 universities ranked higher than #169 lsu, #7 duke, #26 unc, #51 wake forest, #64 nc state, #117 Elon, #143 unc charlotte. With several of these school with a significant amount of endowment funds, unc $5.7 billion, duke $4.96 billion, nc state $2.54 billion, wake forest $1.9 billion. And lsu(main campus) endowment is less than a billion dollars with the total lsu system at $1.2 billion.
