If Woody can’t snag a big fish, it seems Napier will be his guy.

I like him and think he's overdue for an opportunity at a bigger program.

Good choice, seeing that Bill Clark has already rejected an LSU offer.

Napier would be widely approved if he was willing to go to LSU

Not a slam dunk but a guy on most lists to talk to

LSU could do worse. He’s solid.

Would be a solid fit IMO. I always get nervous about smaller school coaches because being a HC at a top program is a fundamentally different job, but he’s spent enough time at power programs to temper that lack of exposure somewhat.

I approve. Then if he is successful we can hire him away in a few years when Saban hangs it up.

Hot take but Napier is a big fish IMO.

You don't get many chances to snag a guy who could end up being an upper-echelon coach this early in his career. Obviously thats not a guarantee, but hes a guy I would risk it on if I were LSU.

The easier/safer option is someone like Franklin, but the ceiling is lower. I don't think y'all are getting Riley like a lot of your fans do, theres no reason for him to leave OU unless its for the NFL IMO.

Let's face it, Franklin never broke through in the Big10 east in seven years. I doubt he would at LSU with Oklahoma and Texas coming. Napier has a higher ceiling, i agree.

I think that LSU is one of maybe a couple of jobs that he's been holding out for.

I'd want him over some other names tossed around like Franklin, Tucker, Jimbo, etc. Obviously the real big fish like Riley or Meyer would be more of a slam dunk but I'd take Napier over a lot of the other "candidates".

So was Tom Herman and Scott Frost.

Napier has quite the resume, but from the names mentioned there are more qualified candidates, IMO. People poo poo Franklin. If he had the caliber of player that LSU gets, he could be scary. He would be first and foremost on my list.

IMHO Napier is a big fish, as is Fickell.

Franklin would not be a good fit, but he did do a good job at Vanderbilt

Riley would not leave Oklahoma, and is in for a surprise when OU finally plays an SEC schedule.

Solid, rational, intelligent hire. LSU will never do it.

I agree with all of this.

Obviously Woodward wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't throw the bank at Riley and make him say no.

When he says no, you go to Fickell. He seems pretty set on being in the Big 10 if you believe all the talk.

After that I go to Napier. I'm not crazy about Franklin like others.

The real question for me is what do you do in the unlikely event that Napier says no
