How is the president of the United States, the most powerful man on Earth, the plucky rebel?

Food stamps is a misguided program because either 1. The hungry kids are a motivator for the parents
And if it's not, or the parent is struggling to get a job the kid suffers through no fault of their own, which i think we all as a society have an interest in trying to prevent.
quote:
Some sort of combination school lunches/ delivered staples to the house would work better than food stamps
I don't disagree with you there. I think the school breakfast/lunch program is a great help to those in need. We also had when I was a kid a program that I only knew as Commodities where once a month we could go and pick up staples to help us get through the month. It wasn't the most exciting foods, but it kept us fed so I'm damn grateful for it.

As a kid who grew up in poverty before welare (and suffered from malnutrition) I can tell you that we did NOT want help. Poor people had pride in those days.
I grew up poor too. Spent some of my childhood with foodstamps. Pride didn't feed me when I was hungry.

L O fricking L. Rich kids have mocked poor kids for as long as there have been rich and poor kids.

Did Biden encourage energy growth or crap on it?
He definitely encouraged alternative energy growth, which would be real handy right about now.
What he didn't do is frick up a shooting war with Iran so badly that he got 2 straits and a major pipeline shut down.

Because neither Trump nor the US control energy speculation which sets the prices for Brent crude, which most of the world uses to set prices. That mostly occurs in London.
Just to clarify. Trump doesn't set energy speculation and prices, but high gas prices were 100% Biden's fault a couple of years ago?
