What was your favorite CFB decade?

My memory begins in the 90s. But the 1980s seems like it must've been fun: you had more parity and upstart programs like the Florida big three (UF, Miami and FSU), Clemson, Colorado, Auburn, BYU, etc. making their presence felt. Things were less PC, so you had more interesting personalities. Also there weren't all these rules that favor offenses that we have now. I'm not sure why uniforms were so baggy in the early 80s though

The 90's basically starting in 1994. I was 8 at the time and was just getting indoctrinated in college football. Always started my morning watching college gameday (when it was only an hour) all the way until the end of the night with Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried with the late night SEC ESPN game.
The 90's had the best college football music intros. Especially ESPN

90s for me. Curry era was over thankfully, Bebes arrived & really turned things around. He'll always be my favorite HC and the 92 season will always be my favorite. Nobody gave us a chance in the Sugar Bowl against big mouth Miami, but the Canes got spanked.

This is pretty tough but 2000 to 2010 beating Tenn, ga tech, Auburn and Florida more often. Seeing us actually win a sec title for the first time in a long time. Bcs wins. We deserved it after a horrible 90s era

Late 90s through early 10s. Back end of the defense era, so you would see nasty hits in the defensive back field. Transition into the offensive era with high scoring games. A lot of fun to watch.

I don't have one. But I guess it'd have to be the one with back-to-back-to-back 11-win seasons. Still not like it was a great decade (2010-2019) overall, but we're South Carolina that's all I have. I'm only 32 I'm not picking a decade from before I knew what was going on. Apparently we had our shot like everyone in the early 80s to win a NC.

As a fan of Alabama, 2010-2019. Obviously.
As a fan of the sport, 2000-2009. PC crap has had progressively more and more impact since then.

Derrick Thomas is from the 80s.
I remember Alabama had a string of great linebackers, but Cornelius Bennet and Derrick Thomas back-to-back was just amazing to watch.
I kind of see Derrick Thomas as the Don Mattingly of Alabama football - amazing player who never won the big trophy despite the program having so many of them.

Not our best decade but I realized I'll always be nostalgic for the 2000-2008ish years. That was basically the start of being old enough to actually understand football to just about college years.
There was just something about it that I love thinking about. Honestly, we were never very good (some solid teams in 2000, 2001, and 2006) but only had one a losing record once at 5-7.
We were almost perfectly in that 6-7 range no matter what so believe it or not I'm not actually used to Gamecock football being as bad as it's been these last couple of years.
Interestingly I felt like our schedule was almost always predictable: Wins over UK and Vandy, losses to UF and UT, the odd win vs UGA or Clemson, and wins over the OCC teams we should beat.
Maybe I just get nostalgic for it because at that age I actually had the time and the care to pay attention to every single game and could remember every single score for years on end. Maybe it's because I used to have the schedule memorized and knew exactly who would be on our schedule each other before the latest round of expansion rearranged all that.
Or maybe it's missing all those appearances we had on JP Sports.

2000-2010 for me
Seeing the rise of LSU to national power was fun and the 3 SEC titles and 2 national titles
