This is unfortunately true and seems to be getting worse. I don’t know what we are doing in Birmingham to be honest. Is it lazy recruiting? I’m surprised by that too since Tuscaloosa is closer. We seem to be doing better in the rural areas but the margin of error is slim because if they get bad grades for even one semester they have to drop out since they can’t afford to pay full tuition. Any way you look at it, I agree that we need to do better especially in the metro areas of the state

It’s not low comparatively speaking. A lot of Alabama residents cannot afford college tuition. So the kids go to community colleges and some transfer to 4 year schools after a year or two. We’ve increased in state kids every year for the past 4 or 5 years.
I’ve lost so much interest in recruiting that I genuinely thought “who?” Was he a highly rated player out of high school?

The standards are already kind of low to get in. What do you want UA to do? Lower standards even more just to grab a few hundred more in state kids? People act like we have practically no in state students but we have less than 200 fewer than AU. We are doing fine, and no, out of state students haven’t ruined anything. They’ve only made the university a bigger brand. I thank them for that

The University gets what it wants basically just from the rent of the land from the tenants. I like the idea of a Truist park but I'm not sure we have the big money spenders to support it all year long that would be required. I know University of Tennesee is doing that, but they are also located in a bigger city that has more than just the University they can support

Are the 20 or so bars not good enough? I would put Bama against almost anybody when it comes to entertainment around BDS. That is one good thing we got going for us compared to other schools.

It seems to me that there has been a lot more talk about beating Bama from the Kentucky and Miss State fans than ever before. Maybe it's my algorithm or something but there is a ton of confidence from these two fanbases. Maybe they feel like we are at our weakest we've been in decades and that they can finally beat us. I have seen quite a few videos of the content creators going around to the students and general fans asking if they should rush the field after they beat us.
Fingers crossed. Alabama residents would love nothing more for Louisiana residents to stop coming to our beaches with their LSU tents blocking everything.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I always point out that 2017 and after was when things got a little off. We still had amazing success but the recruitment of some of the players to me became questionable.

That is a lot of waived former players. Is OL the hardest position to predict for all levels? We recruited highly rated 5 stars that never seemed to pan out in college. And the ones that did pan out in college, never really produced in NFL.

Does a lot of $ really matter? Didn't Democrats spend a lot more than Republicans for the Beto experiment? As someone that doesn't pay too much attention to all of this, does having more $ really influence the voting?
