TLDR - They get OOS tuition dollars up front but their alumni pool isn’t sticking around to work in the state and they have little reason to donate once they leave (same issue Ga Tech is having right now)

You have no clue what you’re talking about. I went to an alumni dinner where the Dean of Business was presenting and she noted that over 60% of graduates stayed in state to start their careers. So if Bama is 70% OOS like you guys claim then your statement is wrong. We also just raised $1.8B in a recent capital campaign. They are donating back and spreading word about their experience at UA. Sorry to disappoint all you haters

it hurts them academic ranking wise. Bama has dropped in rankings since they started chasing OOS kids

Why would this be any significant ranking metric? Do you really think the quality of students have gotten worse over the years while bama has dropped in rankings?

I don't think you understand my post. Unless you're intending to support my argument, which I don't think is the case.

I'm neither supporting or against it. I just saw the name and made a statement. Sorry if it was a direct shot, but I just find the Senators/congressmen/women hypocrites. I know that is not shocking at all

It's a sad day on PT when you are reduced to opposition from Patty Murray as evidence that Trump is not the out of control spender everyone knows he is.

You mean this person that was FOR the Green New Deal?

Patty Murray on the issues

The Deal that would cost between $10T - $93T or $6.6T annually?
When are we going to ask people that are up in arms over stuff and have a platform to make such statements to actually show their work? Like point it out in the bill where he is slashing funding for cancer research. Show me where he is cutting investments to prevent violent crime and not tackling the opioids and mental health crises. Where does it say all that?

A source indicated to BamaCentral that a pair of pitchers, right-hander Zach Kittrell and lefty Connor Ball, are transferring. Kittrell only spent one season at Alabama, with a 9.64 ERA spread across five games (including a midweek start). Ball spent four years with the program but didn't play in 2024, working to a 9.00 ERA in 11 2025 showings (with just five innings pitched). Ball has appeared in a combined 24 college contests to date.

At what point are you like "You know what? I don't think Baseball is for me. I'm just going to enjoy college with what little time I have left."?

I actually appreciate this thread and thank you for highlighting some of the things in the bill, because like you I wasn't exactly sure what all was in it. Just from what you provided from AI Google I don't really have a problem with any of that and think they are all reasonable. Of course just like anything there is more to it and it goes deeper but at this point I don't have the time to really dive into it.

Makes sense. Mine is more of the mindset of "never talk to anyone." Definitely needs to get out of the house and forced to socialize.

Oh man. Why did she pick UA then and not UAB? I love UA but it can eat you apart if you don't at least try to be social. Anyways, good luck to her and you
Why does Auburn's coach never get put on coaching search lists? What he's done there is amazing and really wish someone would take him away from there. I'm jealous that they get to host regionals and super regionals. Our ballpark would look amazing if it was ever full, especially the right field. Right field is a great setup

Would it be offensive if we called her T-RUX?

They could hire Greg Goff and still beat us 2 out of 3 so this doesn't move the needle for me

I can tell you don't watch baseball. Beaux hits a single and does a rain dance on first base. You can watch countless videos of Tennessee baseball players acting a fool

Saw on X where their fans were saying we wouldn’t “bring a ton of fans”. Hope we have a good turnout . Either way , we need to make supers

We can't even bother showing up at our home stadium. Why would we bring fans to USM? The best crowds we had at "home" this year were all away from Tuscaloosa in Huntsville and Birmingham. It's pathetic
I'd vote for him ONLY because it will hurt Auburn and I know they can't find a better coach

It's a mess.

Huh? His tarriff stance has brought in $22B just in May
$22B brought in May

I still have no clue why when these lists come out, that AU's coach is never on there. What he's done there is impressive. Doesn't he also have ties to Miss St?

Bottom line is we don't sign the best players anymore. A lot of it has to do with NIL, but it isn't everything.

I hate NIL. Sounds like our coaches are just coasting off their NC's 10+ years ago. I didn't think we had that hard of a time signing top players, but it's when they get here they seem to go pro at the very first opportunity. I would think other schools would have the same issue with that wouldn't they?
