Yeah, I mean - we all know there are countless examples of us not beating up on teams we were supposed to beat up on. So blowing away a 35pt spread was nice to see.

Sellers definitely had some underthrows to open receivers that are concerning and won't be so forgiving against better opponents. Hopefully playing against KSU and Towson will give him time to adjust.

NATO had been on Russia’s borders for years before the invasion. Putin had also been explicit in his desires to see the return of some kind of Russian or Soviet Empire.
Just saw the Boise - Oregon score. If there isn’t a sucker punch at the end of this game CFB is dead.

Yeah, bringing in a kicker 2 days before the season starts says a lot,

Of all the shitty things that are happening with this sport that make me despair about the current and future state of CFB… there’s just something about watching Sacramento State in the MAC that just feels so wrong.

am sick of the Game of Thrones/House of Dragons intro.

1) HBO (and every other app) comes with a skip intro feature. If you don’t want to sit through it, you don’t have to. I don’t understand your issue.
2) It is a long intro, but as far as long intros to sit through (which you choose to sit through) is pretty great.

However.. remember that our census/govt data analysts have been telling us there are only 11 million illegals in our country for the past 30 YEARS. We had 20 million illegals enter in the past 4 years alone. Go back to Google AI and type in “bullshite that number is too low” and it will concede to something closer to 4% and doubling every 10 years. (Per CAIR, Islamic advocacy groups).

Most illegals are Latino… a pretty heavily Christian culture.

Feel like that’s pretty common in a lot of eras.

Noted. Hopefully this means we won't see you in the in-season thread talking about how much you hate it.
As a West Ham guy if you hold told me a 2-2 draw @Burnley to start the season was going to happen - I wouldn't have thought it was awful. I mean, West Ham took care of Burnley in the Premier League, but as the first game of the year, on the road, against another team that is probably favored to be in the promotion battle, a draw doesn't seem that bad.

With that said, that's not how it exactly played out. West Ham dropping points giving up super late goals has plagued them for years. More wins have become draws and draws become losses due to ~80'+ goals than I care to remember. Different league, same West Ham. And quite frankly, West Ham is lucky Burnley's Flemming didn't score 4 goals by himself.

It's not a great mental start to the campaign. But I do think West Ham will do fine against most of the table.

Started a Mad Men rewatch

Just finished a rewatch as of yesterday.

It had been a while since I've watched it. And yeah, like so many have said there may have been some now obvious things that I missed when I first watched it.

When it first came out when I was in high school or colleage I knew quite a few buddies that loved Draper. And I got it. Cool job. Corner office in an NYC high-rise. Rich. Beautiful wife. Handsome guy that women threw themselves at. Gets to drink at work. And to this day, he can definitely be an extremely cool character.

Years later, when Hamm was doing an interview he mentioned how much he hated the character (not playing it, just how terrible of a person Draper was). I guess I didn't really get it until a rewatch.

The amount of what would be absolutely mortifying moments for me that he went through, like throwing up a funeral, getting knocked out by a bunch of hitchhikers, embarrassing yourself at work, all the infidelity, was astounding.

But it also very much in line with his character. I didn't realize until yesterday that he preached "Forward," until the very last episode. It was a really compelling, and probably pretty accurate, character. Someone that can do terrible things that hurt a lot of people, completely forget about it, feel guilty for a very short time when their behavior is called out, but then ultimately repeat the cycle over and over again.

This episode was a waste of time. I get that original Star Trek had its share of goofiness, but that was with seasons of more than 20 episodes. SNW has less than 20 episodes left in its run. So we have this and the Muppet episode this season to cringe our way through while the clock is ticking…

I think this is a common and understandable constant critique of the show. I don’t mind the occasional filler, goofy Star Trek episode every once in a while. They all have them. But as you mentioned, seasons just aren’t that long anymore and SNW leans on them a little too much considering how few episodes they actually make. At this point it feels like it’s 1/4 of all their episodes.

Star Trek level of horror, so it’s not that bad. You’re missing out a great episode.

This. I love a good ghost ship episode and this was easily one of my favorites.
