Can we put Butch and Proot at the top and add Dooley in for good measure? I'd love to assemble a Mt Rushmore of VOLS coaching hire stupidity...

This man just compared Brian Harsin to Nick Saban.

An argument could definitely be made for Pruitt, Tennessee football wise is head and shoulders above Arkansas and they are an elite east team so failing at UT is much harder than failing at an average arky that plays in the toughest division in college football

Where is Brian Harsin? Has to be top 10. is.
He’s coached 1 season in a killer conference. His status is yet to be determined.

What is the bare minimum Harsin has to do this season to keep his job? Both W/L record and in recruiting?

Three of those should be Derek Dooley, Jeremy Pruitt, and Butch Jones, it’s impossible underestimate how bad those hires were.

8. BUTCH JONES, Tennessee (2013-17)

Butch is a goof but he went to 3 straight bowl games and won 9 games twice before it fell apart in 2017. Went 25-14 (12-12) and 3 bowl games with 2 Top 25 finishes from 2014-2016. This after Tennessee had gone 12-28 the previous 5 years in the SEC.

Pruitt was worse than Butch. Easily.

I’ll see your crappy coordinator and raise you a Willie Martinez. Lol

We even had a soft spot in our heart and hired Bobo so he wouldn’t file for unemployment on y’all’s insurance.

Technically hired before the last decade, but was fired within the last decade. Derek Dooley was arguably the worst head coach in the history of SEC football. Maybe the Ole Miss version of Ed Orgeron was worse, but it’s close

Only Arkansas could be retarded enough to fire Bobby Petrino to replace with John L Smith, Bert, and Chad Morris.

I mean, we basically threw away an entire decade with those hires.

At least we finally hired a competent AD and coach.

Butch was an asinine cheese ball used car salesman, but at least he tried really hard. Pruitt was just mentally retarded. Could not even speak English well.

Yea my first thought was "Uh, Derek Dooley is the CLEAR choice here" but technically it was more than 10 years ago

Derek Dooley was a total disaster by every metric. And as bad of a X & O guy he was, he was even a worse human being. A spoiled, entitled POS that spent most of his energy attempting to convince everyone why he was the smartest guy in the room. Treated players and people in his program and everyone else in the Knoxville community like absolute dog shite. Dude would even berate the janitors and “teach” them how to sweep the floor properly.
