nobody fails to appreciate anything...its a shitty rivalry that only older Bama fans even care about
Other schools' fans -- yourself in particular -- have really done a lot to validate the rivalry by posting about it almost incessantly over the last seven days, though.

It's not to say it's not a good rivalry. Hell, if Ole Miss and LSU or LSU and Tulane still had fiercely competitive games regularly, I wouldn't expect anyone else to care.
Don't know much about Mizzuo-Kansas but my thread was about Bama - UT. Comparing that to TTSIO is ridiculous.

wow you are dense...yet prove my own point at the same time
the point is a 100+ year old rivalry is ended now because of Mizzou's move to the SEC...and the world still turns, their fans were upset about it but its not the end of the world
PLUS it just proved that even though there are 100 year old rivalries between two teams...most of the nation doesn't give a single frick about it other than the two teams
your whole thread is about TTSIO being relevant...it is not relevant in any way other than between Alabama and Tennessee. Which is fine, you can feel however you want, but no one else in the SEC or the country cares

Unlike you, I don't paint with such a broad brush. If UT had upset the Tide last night, I guarantee it would matter and be relevant again to those who think it's lost its luster.
Besides the Iron Bowl, is there another SEC rivalry worthy of TTSIO? Keep in mind these two teams have more SEC championships than the rest. Historically, they're the top two teams. Playing each other matters my friend.
UT will be back again. Just six short years ago, Alabama was being written off.

once again deflecting
how good Tenn is is irrelevant
even if Tennessee had won last night it wouldn't change any of the arguments I am making. It would still just be an upset of an SEC East team over the best team in the West to the rest of the country...only in your mind is it any more "relevant" due to the "tradition"

Responding is not deflecting. Deflecting about what?
What's your answer on the best SEC rivalry after the IB? I respect your opinion, whatever it may be, but you have to admit Bama v UT has to come to mind. C'mon...
I guess it comes down to this: We're Alabama. If we say TTSIO is a meaningful rivalry, it is. We don't need LSU fans validating one of the greatest traditions in college football. Is the IB really a rivalry anymore for the same reasons you're now listing? We respect UT, because of all the other teams in the SEC, maybe they're closest to us in historical significance. Deal with it.

The TSIO doesn't matter most to LSU fans. I mean it really, really doesn't matter to LSU fans. And the proportion of 'doesn't matter' has amped up to a shrill, girlish level since mikey got his kitty arse snapped off by a big gator chomp in the swamp.
Hopefully, before the 2014 schedule is set for the new NC playoff format, the SEC will go to 9 games and they give LSU Vandy, UK and Mizzou as perma east division opponents. Maybe you people would stop whining like little girls...nah, that's just a pipe dream. LSU fans live to bitch.

No one is saying that it's not a historical rivalry. It is. All anyone is saying is that not many people who aren't Alabama or Tennessee fans care about it. I don't see why that's so hard to handle. Some will chime in that they care, but they wouldn't lose sleep over the game not happening if they're being honest.
Like I said, if LSU-Ole Miss was still a competitive series, I wouldn't expect anyone else to care about whether it was played.

No it doesn't. Tenn has 2 SEC titles in two decades. They are not the Tenn team of the late 90's and they Never will be again.

Alabama owns those programs, just like the rest of the SEC. I could not give a shite who else is on our schedule as long as AU and UT are there.
You can say this because you'll need have to play those East teams every year. I can say ill knock out mike Tyson because we'll never fight.

Good god. You gumps come up with the dumbest arguement ever. Yes Notre Dame continuing to play Michigan is screwing up THEIR CONFERENCE SCHEDULING. simple jack!

The Vols and even your mighty Tigers have been written off before, and in your case, many times. Never say never...

It's a rent a win in conference. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining because of scheduling. I am one that wishes LSU would drop the OOC rent a wins and stick to the tougher games becasue we seem to play better through the year. I also don't mind Florida and UGA, USCe because they are usually good well fought games.
Yes because Bama was crying to end it all of last decade and part of the 90's. Y'all didn't mind playing Florida when they sucked. Until they bent y'all over a barrel for a decade. Didn't whine about it the last two yrs either.

Again, college football didn't start when Saban arrived at LSU...
Another ignorant GUMP. IN 1980 LSU was #7 ALLTIME in wins. I guess Saban was our coach then too.
Posted on 10/21/12 at 4:57 pm to TCBRTR
Over the course of six years, Tennessee has led Alabama for 9 minutes and 52 seconds. That's out of a possible total of 360 minutes. Conversely, Alabama has held the lead against UT for 350 minutes and 8 seconds.
If I were a GUMP, I'd fight for the rivalry too. If LSU had Bama's schedule, we'd be undefeated.

Take a look at the all-time list of winningest football teams and tell me where Kansas and Missouri are in comparison to Bama and UT, then tell me how many national championships Kansas and Missouri have. Then try to tell me with a straight face that the Kansas-Missouri rivalry is as important/relevant as Bama-UT.
