Nogal for Mexican - the other Mexican spots I like are closed Sundays.
Luna downtown is good. The one on the south side of town takes forever.
The BBQ places I like are closed on Sunday, as is Darrell's.

Dude, I was trying to be helpful. You mentioned nothing about any of the above in your original post. I was trying to steer you in another direction if you wanted the resort experience of one of the nicer casinos in the area and didn't want you expecting to be in a nice part of Lake Charles when you'll be in Westlake, which is very different.
In any event, the steakhouse in Westlake is good. I hope you enjoy it.

Do you have to stay at the Horseshoe? It's in Westlake, not Lake Charles. It has no amenities like the casinos in Lake Charles do. It's a completely different experience.

Kohler liquid cooled 24 kw. The Cummins liquid cooled units are also great. If you aren't in an area prone to extended power outages during hurricane season, air cooled is likely fine. I'd recommend a Cummins if going air cooled. Quieter units and good quality.

One can very easily found Briggs & Riley on eBay that has been used only once or twice for about 1/3 the retail price. B&R is phenomenal stuff; lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Superior to Tumi, IMO.

Yeah, that vent won't do anything. Ideally, your vent hood should be wider than your stove by 3" on either side and should cover most, if not all, of the depth. Go with a vent-a-hood. I have a 30" 900 CFM (1200 CFM equivalent) dual motor magic lung. Wish I could have gone for the appropriately sized 36" over a 30" range but I was limited by existing cabinetry.

48" is sort of a strange no man's land, IMO. I've thought about it a good bit and done a fair bit of research in anticipation of a future renovation. To me, considering all in one ranges, I'd go with either a 36" with six open burners and a huge oven (although slow to preheat) or a 60" with six open burners and a grill given the two full size ovens this size allows.
In my view, the 48" takes up a whole lot of space without providing the benefit of two full size ovens.
I think I've settled on a 36" range top with six open burners (BlueStar) along with double wall ovens when we eventually pull the trigger.

Demeyere Atlantis and Demeyere Proline frying pans outclass the field bigly in stainless cookware. Anyone who doubts it should compare the conductive core specs between it and any other brand.

26kW is a hell of a lot of juice to ask of a lawnmower engine.

Tin-lined copper, carbon steel, cast iron. All behave quite differently but all will be relatively non-stick without the chemical garbage.

If you're converting to gas soon and doing a kitchen renovation anyway, I'd highly recommend installing a 36" unit if you have a 30" stove.

The James 710 would be a fantastic first date spot. Mazen's is a good restaurant but I would choose something a bit more relaxed for a first date.
