Bubba's love to pat themselves on the back. Note the underlined above...if you repeat doing that, Bama, you'll be ex-communicated from sports!

What does Florida or Georgia have that LSU doesn't?

$$$$ for one... Also, unless I'm missing something, UGA and Fla haven't been investigated for multiple rape allegations and embezzling $$ from a children's hospital.... Yes, LSU won it all in 2019... Additionally, when I remove my personal biases, they have a legit argument for being top 3 teams of a time. BUT, based on last year and this year, it that appears to be a fluke. Saban winning in 2003 was legit. Miles maybe... And even though UGA and Florida haven't won it all lately, they consistently put out winning teams. LSU is like a roller coaster or a "box of chocolates"... Last year and this year are perfect examples. At times you guys look legit. Other times you look like dog schitt... Little to no consistency... Do you REALLY believe that LSU would beat UGA or Florida if you played this weekend?

Texas at 4th would only apply if you could guarantee their dipshits boosters wouldn’t be involved in any way. Which you can’t, so there’s no way they could ever be a top 5 job.

It is pretty remarkable that Miami was able to continue their dominance with different coaches in the 1980's and 1990's. Howard Schnellenberger (1), Jimmy Johnson (1), and Dennis Erickson (2) won national championships in a 10 year span.

I am late to this one but isn't Clemson #1 with that ACC monopoly and free ride to the playoffs?

And everyone of those coaches all paid their players even more than Bama paid theirs

Boosters run every program. Some have more powers than others but they are basically the unseen power behind the throne.

There is no difference between Alabama and Texas boosters but 1 thing and that is Alabama has a coach that knows how to organize everything and Texas coaches don't or have not up until now. Only time will tell if Sark can do this.

So Texas fits into the category of having no clue what they're doing hiring coaches then.

Congratulations?

Not sure what this has to do with me, Granny.

The difference is Bama’s boosters shut the frick up and sat down when Saban showed up. Saban himself is quoted saying that Texas’ boosters are notorious for having their hands way too deep into that program. They are easily the most arrogant boosters in the country. Which is saying something. It’s like having 25 Jerry Joneses run your program and none of them know what the hell they are doing.

Texas is awesome with polls.

Strangely though their last 3 coaches searches they have had to go at least 3 deep on their choice list. Texas is such a great job that no top tier guys want to go there.

A&M hired one of the handful of guys with a Natty in Fisher and he was our clear #1 choice that most people thought we couldn't get.

So you can rank A&M where you want on these lists and puff your chest but just know A&M has a history of getting top tier candidates while Texas seems to always settle for the backup to the backup to the backup.

What dumbasses put Miami over Oregon?

Yeah, I don't think Miami is a better job than anybehind them outside of NC and Northwestern. I can name at least 3 jobs off the top of my head that are better than Miami that aren't even on that list.

Here’s the deal, Alabama’s expectations get reflected as fan expectations but they are, in fact, institutional.

It all starts with the dotcom bubble bursting that ended up affecting the state budgets for the public universities. The University of Alabama System responded by hiring a university president out of the state of Texas who promised to enact a plan for revenue growth via out-of-state student admissions. Robert Witt’s plan enchanted the powers that be within the UAS because he wanted to finally marry the academic and athletic mission into one and the same. Competing at a high level in football was an integral piece in his growth ambitions. He got his opportunity to finally hire a coach who was “his guy” in 2007 with Nick Saban. He sorta inherited the Mike Price to Mike Shula mess and had to make chicken salad out of chicken shite while Alabama was under sanctions.

This is one of the big reasons I suspect that Alabama will not fall as far as rival fans hope. Alabama football success is tied directly to the economic sustainability of the university. It may slip but they’re going to give whoever they hire anything they need to win. They have a CEO-like AD now rather than a former coach or favorite son of the alums. Alabama football has been rationalized and I suspect that those who worry about “meddling boosters” are using old information. This is a business and the leading booster partners and rank-in-file know their role.
