I'd like to know who voted FSU #2.

What dumbasses put Miami over Oregon?
I can see an argument for Miami > Oregon:
1. Miami sits in the most fertile recruiting ground in college football. The State of Florida has 42 four-star and four five-star recruits in the 2022 class per 247 Composite. Statewide, Oregon has zero five stars and two-four stars. So you are going to have give away a lot of Nike gear to get those out-of-state recruits up to Eugene.
2. On that point, Miami is going to be an easier sales pitch to most 18-year old football players. While I would personally prefer Eugene by a mile, they aren't trying to convince a dude in his mid-30s with a family to come play football at their respective schools.
3. Miami is a more prestigious school and gets the benefit of being private vs. public.
4. Miami has quite a bit more success/history than Oregon, which has really only become relevant since its Nikefication in the past couple decades.

Only logical conclusion based on quite a few of these schools being where they're at:
Some of these schools have the absolute worst AD's imaginable in charge, or some of these jobs are not at all attractive to a real CFB head coach.

Their support is crap (fans and admin both), their facilities are crap, and 17-18 year old recruits weren't even born the last time they were elite.

4. Texas
Even before their shellacking this last weekend, this hasn't been true for about 15 years now.
The only thing they have going for them is money at this point. But it's surprising that coaches would rank them this high when they're notoriously fickle and impatient with their coaches and put unreal expectations on them, and if you don't meet those expectations they'll fire you in 2 years.
Their fanbase, boosters, and admin are all delusional and their recruiting hotbed is accessible to everyone across the country; and they're really only a hotbed for skill players, look at what Texas HS football has done to their line recruits.
Texass is definitely a top 25 program, but 4th is way too high just like LSU at 5th

Not only that, their vote total adds up to 98, meaning there are at least 3 idiots who didn't have them in their top 5
You could make many arguments about best coaching job, best overall athletic program, etc., but to not have Alabama as a top college football program right now is just asinine.

All true, but it’s a poll about the best college coaching gigs. Miami could be elite tomorrow if they had a halfway competent and motivated coaching staff. That program practically sells itself and they can have a roster of 4 and 5 star kids without having to leave the bay.

If over 100 people voted in this, that means at least 3+ people didnt put Alabama in their Top 5, interesting

Curious about why you lied in your thread title about what the article was about?

Looking at the totals, Bama got 2 lower than 5th.

These lists are silly to me. The question is always done in a misleading way. The question should be, "What is the best job if it were open tomorrow?" Lots of jobs are great right now for the coach that is there right now but that really isn't relevant.
Bama is undoubtedly a great job in a vacuum but whomever follows Saban might as well plan on no more than 3 years. There is a reason it took 20 years to replace Bear with Stallings being the only mildly acceptable choice and ironically to an extent Fran (he was the only one to leave voluntarily). Still a great job but I don't know how following the GOAT is the best job in the country.
Ohio State makes sense. They have been able to plug and play and be successful and they were able to get Urban.
UGA makes sense. Money, recruiting, facilities, everything you need and high but realistic expectations.
Texas? Lol. How can you say Texas when their last 3 coaching searches they had to go at least 3 deep and for Strong it was about 6 deep. If it is so great why do so many run away? The answers are obvious of course, it's toxic as hell.
LSU? They have made some great hires but never pulled off a splash hire. When Saban came from Michigan State he was not the Saban we know today. He was a rising star coach who had some success but was far from a sure thing. The grass eater and O were also pretty "meh" hires at the time. Still LSU is a place that has a great environment to win so I can understand a high rating.
As these jobs keep being thrown around I also chuckle that Michigan isn't listed. Sure, they suck right now and Harbaugh has been a bad hire (essentially their Fran). Still, getting Harbaugh was considered a grand slam for a reason. Michigan has it all. Money, support, brand, atmosphere. A coach could also go there now and not be expected to win big right off the bat. It's a great opportunity.
Florida should be a better job but they don't seem to want to go all in. They could easily spend like Texas, Bama, or A&M but they don't. It's an awesome job in terms of everything else, if you can succeed there you will dominate Florida recruiting and your floor is extremely high
Clemson is going to be a situation similar to Bama but worse. Who the hell wants to try and follow Dabo and be expected to win at that level while not having elite resources?
USC is always this great job but they really haven't made a big hire since Carroll. The last few have been flat mediocre (not the results but just hiring someone that wasn't an elite candidate).
I understand OU but if you had a scenario where Riley left tomorrow and the new coach gets to go into the SEC that's going to be a tough road. Neither Stoops or Riley were thought to be splash hires either but still OU is definitely an attractive job and you can win there.
Notre Dame is about right.
Penn State is a great job that isn't listed as well.
If a job is a great job they should be able to show they can get great candidates.

I got the link from Instagram and they misattributed what it was about.
I just left it because basically the same things that make a great job make a great program.
Really no difference.

Foley was a cheap bastard and put a 10 year freeze on building or even renovating facilities.

Top 3, Bama/UGA 1&2... OU, Fla, Clemson next... OSU a case can be made... Texas?? LSU??? The acid/PCP combo must have kicked in at that point...

Thank you.
I noticed some Aggy shitposting in their general direction so I presumed that A&M got left off the list.
ETA: Correction. A&M is #12 on the list.
Notre Dame did them dirty again.
