It wasn’t an employment contract. It was NCAA bylaws the NCAA rewrote for the next class and then refused to apply to the one that just finished, except for those who didn’t play 4 in 4.

“You got what you signed up for” only works if the rulebook stays the same. They changed the rules midstream and drew a line including some and excluding others.

If it were that frivolous, two state judges wouldn’t have already put TROs on the NCAA and the SEC - let alone the TROs applied the same way in other states.

You are treating a bylaw change as if it were a completed employment contract with no further duties. None of the Courts so far have not treated it that way as you are here.

I referred to an employment contract as an analogy, to make the point that there’s no legal cause of action for not being gifted something extra, over and above what you reasonably expected.

This change wasn’t “midstream,” as you suggest. It was post-stream, after these players’ eligibility was completely used up.

Sure, some courts might grant relief to the players, but not on any valid legal theory I’ve seen so far. And quite a few of these cases initially granting relief are being reversed on appeal.

How exactly is consistently saying you’ll abide by the rules bending the knee?

The reality is this has way more to do with greedy agents and lawyers than it does LSU or any other school. Sure, Kiffin is going to push the boundaries, but he’s always done that and WAY before his time at LSU.

LSU fans are completely misreading this whole situation. They see it being about 2 players.

These presidents, who have the power to cripple LSU with the stroke of a pen, feel like LSU is trying to destroy the foundation of college football to win a few more games. And they are doing it in direct opposition to not only every other SEC team, but every other power 4 team.

If Kiffin plays one of those former NFL guys on Saturday it will get ugly. In a few years LSU fans will be moaning about “how did this happen? Why does everyone hate LSU?” The answer will be in their mirrors.

Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team received some disappointing news last week when it was announced that guard Bryson Warren would be ineligible to play for the program next season due to the fact that played under contract in the NBA's G-League.

However, things are now shifting in a new, more postive direction for Warren and Texas A&M.
Warren has been granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA that now makes him eligible to play for the Aggies during the 2026-27 campaign, per reports from Travis Brown of KBTX Sports.

However, according to Brown's report, this won't impact Warren's eligibility with Texas A&M, even though he played multiple years in the G-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Westchester Knicks.

The TRO, which was filed in Brazos Valley court, prohibits the SEC and other conferences from restricting Warren's eligibility next season. Warren has spent this offseason with the Texas A&M program, which included the team's trip to the Bahamas for a few exhibition games, but the eligibility issues prevented him from playing in those contests.
