Except the former Rebel players aren’t not eligible to play in the SEC except for at Ole Miss.

They can’t prevent the player from playing but they can absolutely rule that lsu forfeits the game for playing ineligible players.
And the playoff committee can leave a team like LSU out if it’s between another team with the same record which many teams in the sec will have.

LSU about to spend a half billion on their football program with the lawsuits about to be slung at them. So glad Lane’s circus left town.

Not quite, the TRO ordered a transfer window and the NCAA could not prevent anything. It did not appear to overturn any conference specific rules.

Entirely possible, but would you bet the entire season on that? There are lots of basketball games, but very few football games, and the stakes are a lot higher.
It's just a wild, uncertain environment.

The NCAA has set practice rules for pre-season training, and these guys have participated in NFL camps. It'll be interesting to see how teams intend to skirt the ncaa rules for practice/training sessions.

A TRO is temporary relief, not permanent relief.
I think LSU is either hoping for an outcome like Alabama got in basketball, or, that they'll win on the merits, or, if they lose, by the time its over the season will be over and the whole thing will be moot,
Those are all outcomes that could happen. But it's a high stakes gamble, particularly if things don't go their way. The NCAA hasn't totally lost on these lately. They recently won in Ohio and Nebraska.

The conference can make its rules on anything. And conference rules have generally been upheld by the court system.

The ruling only applied to the NCAA and to the SEC in so far as players being eligible, it did not however enjoin the SEC with respect to its own bylaws but only as so far as their participation in the NCAA.

TJ Harden was a UDFA running back signed by the Seattle Seahawks this season.
I'm assuming he did the math compared to his training camp performance and competition and realized he could make more off NIL than he could has a practice squad guy.
