You play any of these players who were in the pros, you forfeit your league game they played in. There is no other option.

The conference can't do that, these are eligible players.

College football is a pro league now.
Haven't noticed?

They can absolutely implement that rule.

The frick?
How are you going to make teams forfeit games by playing eligible players?
That's not how it works buddy.

They’re eligible, but the two from Ole Miss are not eligible to play anywhere within the conference.

Instead of scholarships, they players need to be contracted to play for the university where there should be a clause that states "if you sign with a NFL team, you hereby forfeit any remaining years of eligibility."
I know verbiage is there in the NCAA bylaws, but lets make it contract law

Ah yes.
LSU recruiting players deemed eligible in a case they had nothing to do with is the same as playing a player who admitted to betting on games they themselves participated in

Why not tell the school u can play and pay the player but your team doesn’t meet eligibility requirements for participation in the SEC or NCAA basketball tournament, conference football championship game or NCAA football playoff?

Not gonna happen. Too many whores with no integrity like Kiffin in the league now. It’s a mercenary league. Kiffin would play Brandon Soresby if he thought it would get him an extra first down.

We're about to find out what Sankey's really made of. It's not just an LSU issue. It's bigger than that, and the NCAA fumbled things as usual.

quote:Not according to the TRO. The judge granted relief to the 22 players that the NCAA left out of the 5 for 5. The judge ordered a temporary portal window with no transfer restrictions. This TRO overrides all "rules" for the NCAA and the SEC.
but the two from Ole Miss are not eligible to play anywhere within the conference.

Not quite, the TRO ordered a transfer window and the NCAA could not prevent anything. It did not appear to overturn any conference specific rules.

Not according to the TRO.
Plus TRO's are temporary pending a full hearing. If the TRO is eventually overturned, and the players are ultimately ruled ineligible, there's a major risk there. There's a difference between a TRO and an injunction.
Someone's eventually going to have to break down and start collectively bargaining if we want the kind of stable environment that everyone claims they want.

It would play out similarly as the Bedaiko situation. He played for 5 games while the TRO was in effect, lost in the subsequent hearing, and didn't play the rest of the season. Alabama didn't have to forfeit the games he played in.
