2. SEC is going into B12 territory and pissing in their Wheaties. After the cluster that was B12 media days last week and all the butt hurt from them - having the SEC media days right in the same metro is basically flipping a middle finger to B12. This is basically establishing it as SEC territory going forward. They are smart to do this.

You beat me to this, and it is spot on. I love it, because Dallas/Ft Worth is OU's back yard.

Then why not stay where you were?
Strange to leave one conference for another, just to make it what you just left.

No clue.
I’m not an insider.
Tho one variable was likely the fact we were the sole team in our neck of the woods.

I can say, however, we weren’t looking to rock the boat.
We were happy to join the SEC and experience what it already was.

I thought you were pointing out my boat/boot typo; didn’t realize you wanted a response.

Yes, I think UTex is looking to make adjustments to the SEC.
By default, OU will follow their example.

We don't follow texsa example on anything.

Curious though.....why do you think/assume texsa had anything to do with the decision being made to have the SEC media day in Dallas?

And you all thought Mizzou and A&M were bad (and probably Arkansas and SC before that).
Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss should leave the SEC and form their own conference. We could have two six-team divisions.

It won't be Texas as much as who is behind them... Learfield/IMG. The crystal ball points to Texas having an ever increasing bigger role in college sports along with a handful of other "market makers".. it is what it is and its inevitable.

Texas is a vehicle, but not necessarily the engine.

People will complain when the SEC championship game eventually gets rotated and half of the games aren’t even in the southeast, and I’ll probably be one of them, but we should have known that this would happen once we started adding teams from the Midwest and the southwest. Arkansas, Missouri, A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma were all mistakes. They should’ve added Clemson, Florida State, NC State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. That way they could’ve actually kept the SEC southeastern and not have to placate people in St. Louis and Dallas.

It’s not that I am a total Georgia homer and don’t want to see the SECCG leave Atlanta. I wouldn’t mind it being rotated between Atlanta, Nashville, Tampa, New Orleans, and Charlotte (if they had added the right teams), but the truth is that we won’t have any place to complain when they move it in far flung western locations when we added those teams. The mistake was adding those schools in the first place.

ETA: in my opinion, they actually didn’t have to add anyone, but if they had to add schools, I think they should’ve added the ones I listed. The original ten schools were perfect, though.

Some of y'all sound just a crazy, triggered, and deranged as Nebraska did when the BIG XII formed.
