Gee I wonder who owns Omni hotels. Could it be one of our biggest donors?

Nebraska ended up being right about it all.

I’m not sure what Nebraska was saying when the Big XII was formed, but if they were saying that Big XII was going to dilute their own brand, move all of the attention in the Big 8 away from the schools in the upper Great Plains and to the teams in Texas (one school in Texas in particular), and destroy their program, then they were spot on with each and every point. All of that happened. That’s why they moved to the Big Ten. Their conference turned their back on them in favor of the SWC schools (again, one in particular).

TRT Holdings is a private holding company based in Dallas, Texas, that owns hotel chain Omni Hotels.

Clark 17, Arkansas Fan said, "I don’t know how they select sites, but I think each SEC state should be able to submit a site and plan to the SEC for this event if they want to host it."

Arkansas would vote to have it in Dallas; it is only 179 miles from Texarkana to Dallas. Less than a 3 hour drive. Right in the Razorback backyard.

Yes, I think UTex is looking to make adjustments to the SEC.
By default, OU will follow their example

It’s not a big deal, I was thinking of the revenue it can produce for the city it’s in. It’s just a media event. As someone said it’s in Nashville this year, why not spread the wealth across all SEC states. I doubt it matters to many people though.

But I think it would be cool to host one year in Hot Springs at the Oaklawn race track hotel. 198 rooms, 14,000 sq ft ballroom with stage with a casino and live race and sports betting next door. Coaches and writers would eat that up.

Then a trip to Sam Pittman’s house for a cold beer on lake Hamilton. But it won’t happen so there’s that.

I’m not mad it’s in texas though.

Dude, it ain't 1950 anymore. Get on a plane, you can be in any decent sized city in Texas in 2 hours.

It’s not that I am a total Georgia homer and don’t want to see the SECCG leave Atlanta. I wouldn’t mind it being rotated between Atlanta, Nashville, Tampa, New Orleans, and Charlotte (if they had added the right teams), but the truth is that we won’t have any place to complain when they move it in far flung western locations when we added those teams. The mistake was adding those schools in the first place.

Go to your local Walmart in Texas, there is always more Longhorn gear compared to the Aggies.

UT, the Cowboys, the Rangers run Texas in that order.

The Cowboys are arguably number 1.

People will complain when the SEC championship game eventually gets rotated and half of the games aren’t even in the southeast, and I’ll probably be one of them, but we should have known that this would happen once we started adding teams from the Midwest and the southwest. Arkansas, Missouri, A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma were all mistakes. They should’ve added Clemson, Florida State, NC State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. That way they could’ve actually kept the SEC southeastern and not have to placate people in St. Louis and Dallas.

Bruh.......we talkin' about Dallas, not Eugene. I fly into DFW out of Charlotte routinely and it's a short hop.

And I don't think you know where the midwest is. Get a map.
