Tennessee, South Carolina, and Missouri should all be in a tier above Vanderbilt.

How is UK beating UF by more points at a neutral site than at a home game

Because Florida is a soft team mentally, which is a direct reflection of the head coach.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky on a neutral field would beat Florida by 10+.

So long as you guys keep getting 100+ penalty yards per game, yeah.

Tennessee is in tier three and the tier three teams listed might degrade to tier four

Auburn gets a pass for Bo Nix playing out of his mind against a bad lsu team?

Just as I thought the Arkansas and Ole Miss hype was a major overreaction, I think the negativity towards LSU is also an overreaction.

Don't get me wrong.... the heat is turned up on Orgeron so high that team could very well spiral out of control. But LSU could also very well win out with the exception of the Bama game. The win over Mississippi State in Starkville now looks much stronger than it did a week ago. Here's LSU's remaining schedule:

at Kentucky
Florida
at Ole Miss
at Alabama
Arkansas
ULM
Texas A&M

Outside of the Bama game, I see no opponents left on their schedule that will for sure beat them. I see a bunch of 50/50 type games that could go either way. My gut feeling is LSU pulls it together and beats Kentucky this weekend.... then they beat Florida at home the next week and suddenly they are 5-2 heading into Oxford.

I think LSU finishes the year 8-4.

Well thought out. Just trade LSU and Tennessee and it will be perfect.

Auburn rushed 2 and 3 all night and LSU could not rush it. Unless they figure out to run the ball they have losses most likely to
Kent
UF
OM
AL
A&M

I think this A&M team is too high at tier 3. the way we are playing right now we are dead last in the west. No question in my mind.

I'm curious how Arkansas and Ole Miss bounce back.

Georgia put a physical beatdown on Arkansas. Will it carry over in the Hogs psyche? Will it damage the confidence they were building?

Lane Kiffen had that game circled and they came up short. Big time. Does Ole Miss shake it off or do they show up to the early game with a hangover.

Either way, it should be an interesting game.

Based upon 5 weeks of the season, those make sense to me.

Auburn's struggles against Georgia State are a real head-scratcher... but otherwise, they've had a pretty good year. They are one play in Happy Valley away from being 5-0 and likely ranked in the Top 10.

I'm not sure what Arkansas or Ole Miss have done to establish themselves ahead of Auburn at this point. I would say there's no clear leader among those 3 SEC West teams. They've all had their ups and downs.

Arkansas is hanging their hat on wins over Texas and Texas A&M..... but at this point, its become pretty obvious that Texas A&M is the worst team in the SEC West.

I know Georgia is good this year, but the 37-0 score says just as much about Arkansas being a pretender as it does about UGA being a contender. And lets not just gloss over the fact that Arkansas was tied with Rice in the 4th quarter in Week 1.

Lay it all out on the table and the only real accomplishment thus far is a big win at home against Texas. Are we sure Texas is any good? What's their best win? A 5-point win over TCU?

Now do Ole Miss: Their "accomplishment" at this point was beating the tar out of a Tulane team that took Oklahoma down to the wire? Well guess what, everyone has taken Oklahoma down to the wire. And Tulane has since lost to UAB and East Carolina (by 23 points!). The win over Louisville is nothing impressive... the Cards just lost to Wake Forest.

My suspicion is that LSU is being undervalued at this point. I think Auburn's win in Death Valley is going to be worth a bit more in a few weeks, while Arkansas's wins over Texas and Texas A&M will continue to show they weren't worth much.

My gut feeling about how the West looks at the end of the year:

1. Alabama (8-0)
2. Auburn (6-2)
3. Ole Miss (6-2)
4. LSU (5-3)
5. Arkansas (3-5)
6. Miss St. (3-5)
7. Texas A&M (2-6)

Auburn's losses will be to Georgia and Bama
Ole Miss' losses will be to Alabama and Auburn
LSU's losses will be to Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss
Arkansas' losses will be to Bama, AU, OM, and LSU

Just my guess at things after five weeks of play.

Bottom tier team checking in. Probably should be in our own separate tier.

Missouri might lose to Vandy this year.

Move the Vols up a tier for the week to week to week. The Vols are head and shoulders better than Mizzou, Vandy, UofSC.

Auburn, Florida, and maybe LSU are the only teams with the heart to play against bama and georgia.

The same way it's always been.

Yes, but I am very satisfied with our HC. Kind of guy you may not initially want but the guy you need.
