Tough road the rest of the way out, but feel pretty good about the potential with the way we played in BR.

You never know how tough your schedule will be until the games are played, But Florida and LSU appear to have it a little better than others. Florida doesn't have the current top 2 teams from the West on their schedule and LSU doesn't have the current top 2 from the East.

Granted there is a clear top 2 in the West, but not so clear in the East. So UF is probably playing the weakest SEC schedule. If you can really call any SEC schedule weak.

I ain't mad about it.

Why not eliminate the top four teams from the Tourney instead of the bottom? The SEC Tourney doesn’t mean anything to the NCAA, we all know that…
Have the rest play for play ins…
The Tourney meant something years ago, but not anymore…
Plus, we all know that AT LEAST the top four teams will make the playoffs…

Should we thank sec schedulers for A&M, Ark, Tenn , SC and Kentucky to start SEC play

That is an absolutely fricking brutal schedule to start conference play.

Because everyone's trophy case isn't as jammed full as LSU's trophy case and an SEC tournament trophy looks real nice taking up some space in there.

Does this give Missouri hope to jump up a few spots in the ranking at the end of the season.

On paper that looks great for LSU, but usually the teams play better and harder when they are desperate to make the post season. LSU will be nursing injuries also. I’d expect the same record on the second half for LSU.

The big question is can State and Ole Miss turn things around? I don't think anyone expected them to fall off a cliff this bad.

State has won two series in a row but the remaining schedule is tough. Bama and OM wins were a nice start but they’re going to have to beat somebody really good. The thing about State is if they will stop walking 10 people a game then this is a pretty good team. But they give away sooooooo many freebies. That said, getting Nixon healthy is potentially a game changer if the starting pitching is at least competitive like it was against OM.

Ole Miss has a manageable schedule down the stretch, but the damage may be already done, especially if LSU beats them two or three times this weekend like most expect.

I hate to say sec tourney and sec champ are meaningless but odds are pretty good you will have to beat some sec teams in Omaha where it counts

Hey dummy, the front of the SEC schedule was brutal and LSU came out very well minus some tough injuries.

In my opinion, the SEC Baseball Tournament should be single elimination, all 16 teams participate.
Wednesday
1-16/2-15/3-14/4-13
Thursday
5-12/6-11/7-10/8-9
Friday
4 Winners from Wednesday play 4 Winners from Thursday.
Saturday
4 winners play each other
Sunday
2 Winners play championship game

Maximum number of games played is 4 by
2 teams

3 games
4 teams

2 games
8 teams

1 game 8 teams

Fans get to see 15 games total so plenty of baseball is going to be played. Top 4 teams catch a break if they win their game on Wednesday by having an off day on Thursday.
Teams will not kill their pitching staff unless they get to Sunday but each team will be in the same situation.

A win-win all the way around.

LSU @ Ole Miss not a gimme.
Forget the 3-12 record. They are better than that plus if Elliot is able to pitch this week, they will be a tough out for LSU.
Plus it is in Oxford. And Ole Miss unlike State earlier in the year has lost a bunch of close games. They could easily win a couple of games this weekend against LSU.

Not really…
Most people here don’t mind going 0-2 in the SEC Tourney to rest and save the arms…
You were probably one of them…

I'm glad the East is the tougher division this year. Us baws in the West need a break. We've been carrying the SEC in baseball for way too long.

If by us, you mean Ole Miss and Miss St, sure.
