re: Michigan legit candidates

ESPN guy was saying this morning it would be the best option at this point, but prob won’t happen because the fans wouldn’t like it and honestly he doesn’t need to work to get paid. Just pretend he’s looking.

Also said they will avoid anyone linked to Harbaugh tree which includes Minter.
They did not! This rumor has been known and covered up for a long time this season. He was fired when this all went public.

LSU had no shortage of running backs to replace him. Get Lacy or Sheppard. Texas will also have a few 5 stars he’s competing with.
LK could end this by saying he left for a bigger and better job. Just like Summeral.
He’s been trying to not trash Ole Miss even though they are doing it to him.

Kid lost sooo much money tonight.
OSU would’ve had to match all the offers from all over the country. Now they will spend half as much.
I can see him wanting to go somewhere he feels he’ll be developed better. But he’d require 3 mil. Per yr and no one will pay that now following this yr.
He basically said Ole Miss isn’t a top football program where I should be if I consider myself a top football coach. Which he does. He didn’t want to lose the chance at LSU or Florida. Is he supposed to wait until he has a bad team? Then he may not get the big job.
I’m sure he thinks they had a real chance to win it all this year. But was dead set on moving up, and certainly not getting locked in to another deal at Oxford.
Sounds like a threat. And a new coach is not gonna let that slide and look weak. No way he stays if this is true.
Now I see why he’s been trying to get out of Clemson before next year!
ole Miss trying hard to trash LK about this. They want to coach the playoff just like Lane did. A few will have a spot if wanted next month.
Is OM gonna tell the new coach he has to hire all the current coaches and not bring in any of his own?

Doubt it. Some will be going with LK. They won’t until after playoff game, but OM will use it to say “Look none of the assistants want to go to LSU with LK.”
LSU will let LK do what he wants. He won’t screw his LSU team for next year. He’ll make sure the roster is taken care of by some assistants for a few weeks.
He has proven to LSU that he REALLY wants to be at LSU and not just any job better than OM!! To go through all of this now, and not take the easy way out and wait for a down year. I’m impressed and excited to have a coach coming that will give 100% to win after what he had to do to leave OM
He has a problem if he chooses to stay at Ole Miss now. Not debatable he chose to leave for LSU. If he stays now because of playoffs etc. everyone will know he leaves for somewhere in the next few years when having a bad year.
Maybe he knows Ole Miss isn’t opening anymore. Bad news for LSU

He could be great at it. He needs to show it at a place like Tulane, and wash off some of that bad rep he got from the email stuff.

Kiffin is a long shot. LSU needs to focus on the next 3 targets now and not let this drag out until after the playoffs.

I have no doubt his wife and Kids get a big say in it. I’m not surprised they would pick UF over LSU to live. He’s not coming to LSU.
It gives me flashbacks of Lou Holtz, Paterno, Bobby Bowden. Having to hear constant talk about his past accomplishments when clearly it’s just a goodbye tour lasting multiple years with a washed out coach with no fire left. Except we will hear mostly Bamas accomplishments under Saban for several years every game. Plus he’d be a lame duck coach, waiting to hear if he’s retiring every year.
Baker has done a good job. Had gotten no help from this offense. He came in as the hottest young DC, and is more qualified to be the next head coach than most of the candidates being mentioned.
The problem is after year one, every recruit or transfer will wonder who the coaches will be a year or two later. You’d have to hire 2 coaches. Someone like Sheppard to be DC and named coach in waiting.
15mil. Is enough. He can get 2.5 for playoff spot and another 2.5 for champ.
Recruits are gonna line up to play for an 74+ yr old ex retired coach they know won’t be there after 1,2,3 yrs. It’s a stupid idea and would be a disaster, just like Belicheck.
